They're making a Buell chopper on TLC right now (evening of March 1). The XB engine cases tipped me off. Don't look too bad really, tune in. What are your thoughts? |

it's a buell...or started as one...chicken fresh off the torch...tasty.. I don't think I like the "quick" format of the new ones...I liked the old ones...thirty days to build something..now it is "slam it together and prefab as much as possible" ...not as cool I think ok...that thing is Kawi green...WTF? Any other color maybe?? Didn't we just see a thread about unlucky green bikes?!?!? Ok...the rear tire is cool i think...other than the color it is kinda cool..i like that he has a real exhaust so he can exploit the power of the bike and not some BS homemade pipe that makes no HP or torque So now they are coming here where I live and i didn't see it..must've been the open air bar for the "chic" HD fashion victims by the bay... Cool...I guess it wasn't here....sweet.. (Message edited by liquorwhere on March 01, 2007) |

At the beginning they showed Bryan Fuller popping wheelies before the tear down. The narrator mentioned that Stone Mountain donated the XB. Kawi Green, ahhh thippptttpttt. Spoiler Warning.... Westbury won.........., not Bryan Fuller |

I loved the bike. I prefer that low, drag-racer look to the ridiculous raked-out Big Dog types. Here's a link to Bryan Fuller's website and the bike he built, the "Fuller Fueller." http://www.fullerhotrods.com/Galleries/galleriesvi ew.aspx?gallery=abeefed3ddb248238abe6b894f476475&c ategory=2&action=show Also in the show, the manager of the Kennedy Space Center rode up to greet the bikers, and he was on a Buell Ulyssys. I'm afraid to admit, I kinda-sorta-maybe like it. Don't like the green and would never have that as my only bike, but I've seen much worse. Obviously it's only good for superslab, but sure I'd be seen on it. I like how low it is and how the rear tire sits so high above the seat. Wonder how it'd look with a cheese grater attached? |

I've been biting my tongue ever since I met Brian at the dealership. I've got pictures that Smokescreen took after he was finished with the build. I'll get them to Smokescreen so he can post them. Pretty nice bike, if you like customs. Don't fret that he took apart a Buell, if it weren't for Brain, New12r wouldn't have some much needed parts to get back on the road, one of those parts being the frame. |

I tuned in for a minute or two. One thing that bugs be about the other chop. It has heim joints holding the rear axle. I've seen that before, but how durable can that be? To me it just seems like it would be too weak. I dunno, maybe it's safe. But I'd be surprised if they did any calculations to see if that setup would hold up for very long. |

I think they've posted some new pics of the Fueller since I last went to that site. I think it's a bad ass bike... I LOVE that rear tire! A very nice change from the short/fat ones everyone's using now. I also love the fact that, should I ever get the hankerin' to ditch my Ss and go the chopper route (insanity, I know, but you never can tell!), they offer the Fueller frame for $3000, and I'd already have most of the guts to build my own!

I watch that show every now and then, and I caught this episode. My wife is a professional artist, and she's always amazed by the paint jobs these guys do... Anyway, like Vanvideo, I much prefer these boardtracker-inspired bikes to the raked choppers. The Fueller, though...I dunno, the rear tire kinda overpowers the bike IMO. I really like the bike, and appreciate it's a Buell, but I can understand why the other one won the contest. |

OK, the picture above is slightly out of proportion. The back tire wasn't that large. You notice in the photo, the bike's length is stretched a bit. Notice the rear tire is slightly oval shaped. I can get images like that when I shoot with a wide-angle lens on my camera, and shooting at close range to the subject. The effect elongates the subject. I suspect that's what we're seeing in the above pic. On the tv program, the proportions of the bike were perfect (in my opinion). |

I dunno Van, looks pretty big to me. I'll let Smokescreen post the rest of the pics, but here's two for now.

That rear wheel was supposedly a 22" rim, and the tire was like 32" in diameter. I the pics are accurate. By the way, I chnaged my mind on this thing. That bike could have been sex on wheels if it weren't for that rediculous rear wheel. |

I gotta say AAACK!!!! And I don't say that lightly. Put the tractor tire back on the JD and get a real bike tire/wheel combo and it would be an attractive bike to me. |

Personally, I like, not the norm. I also like to see my new frame on TV! Brian is really cool, that indian he built you saw early in the show is sick too. |

1313... that's ridiculous! i love it!!! as far as the fueller goes.... go see it in person. it's not really kawasaki green. it's a crayonish green with gold metalflake. and that's not Bryan doin' the wheelie in the parkin' lot on the show, either. it's one of the guys that works for Fuller, name of Ben. (he'd appreciate me sayin' that). i think seein' Bryan's work in person is important. pictures don't do it justice. |
