"Used to have a Glock 19, but sold it because it wasn't sexy enough. Plus I didn't like it's ergonomics even though it would drive tacks."

In 1996, I swore that I would never buy a Glock after holding one and dry firing it. Then while at a range one day, another shooter lent me his, and I was surprised at how much I liked it. For me this was the only pistol that matched the Berretta 92FS (M9) in it's ability to hold a tight group while firing rapidly. At a sporting goods store in my area, they had a Glock 27 on sale for $400, and I snatched it up. This is now the longest I have ever owned a single firearm.

Eboos - I hated my Glock 19 at first. and its toggle switch trigger pull. It's got 10,000+ rounds through it and never a jam that wasn't my fault. I really like it now and trust its value as a true defensive or combat weapon. Maintenance is a snap compared to most guns. I have been converted.

Slightly off topic but I'm looking for a mail order house that will ship ammo to New Jersey. Any suggestions?

Jerseyguy, check out AIM: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/index.html

Skimming through it looks like the only thing they wont ship to NJ is high(regular)capacity mags. They do require first time ammo purchasers send a copy of their drivers permit.

No A-10 purchase in my future but the National Guard flies them nearby.

Hey Vanvideo,

How much do you think a military issue win1200 is worth?

I paid 200 bucks at a gun show 20 years ago.

Llama update:
Remember how I said it jammed like a P.O.S.?

Well forget about it!
I cleaned and lubed it carefully.
Just shot it 100 times with no malfunctions at all.

Of couse, I was running it on roundnose stuff.
It would probably still jam on JHP.

Llama's were not built for hollowpoints, the feed ramps are for ball ammo. Unless it's a newer one with ramped barrel.

Try Federal's expanding full metal jacket. It's the best kept secret in ammo, a pre scored jacket w/rubber insert on top of lead core. Expands reliably even thru car glass, heavy leather jacket, etc. It does not depend on hydrodynamics peeling back a jacket & should be very good at mass retention. Feeds like ball.

Thanks I'll go check riflestocks.com out.

Toe Cutter, I've seen Win1200 Vietnam-era trench guns for sale at gun shows in the $1,400 - 1,800 range. You should take yours to a gun show and have a few of the collectors look it over. Check out the price on this one:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item =66501811

and this:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item =66285359

But if you want to sell it for the $200 you paid for it, I'll be glad to take it off your hands.

I'll up the bid to 250. LOL Those things were "slamfire" bad assed equipment. I'd keep it awhile longer. Its like the model 94's, it'll just keep going up until the gobment trys to take em away.

Vanvideo,

That's pretty cool, who knew. But I think I'm gonna hang on to it.

I'm gonna need it during Armageddon : )

Thanks for the 411
