Joe, Right before Christmas I went to bed and had all the typical symptoms, fast heart-rate, sweat, nauseous, etc. I had just been reading in Readers Digest how so many guys in their 40's & 50's die from heart attacks because they don't go to the doctor. So I decided I'd better get checked out. Luckily I was fine (until I saw the ER bill). They said that they'd rather have me come in and have no problem then to read my obit in the paper. |

but after DaveS called me I had the wife call my doctor until I saw the ER bill Way to go Daves and Mrs. Cochise! The bill may suck, but the peace of mind has no price tag.

Cochise -- not the poke you in the eye or nuthin, but posting about a motorcycle symptom on the web and waiting a week to see the local Buell tech is one thing . . . get checked out! if your doc can't see ya, go to the ER, find another doc, swacrifice small mammals in the back yard signed a guy that lost his dad and grandad to heart attacks |

he would roundhouse kick his own heart so hard it would be too scared to ever give him any trouble, ever again. That is, if Chuck Norris had a heart. He doesn't. He has a fist instead. |

In my defense, I don't think I even had a heart attack, I am 32, I didn't have ALL the symptoms so I was taking it in stride, but I appreciate all the help and answers. Doctor gave me an EKG, a chest X-ray, and took me off of caffeine, well he told me to cut down to 2 Dr. Peppers a day and see if I have any episodes again, if so, he said cut out ALL caffeine intake, if I still have one, I have the appointment still at the Cardiologist on the 19th and they can check me out further. This morning, I was swinging an axe and doing some heavy lifting with no problems. Any of those two things would bug my heart in themselves. |

Cochise, Glad you got a clear report from your doc; hope the cardiologist clears you too. |

Joe, Glad to hear things are looking well. My Dr. has been asking me for several years if I ever have chest pain when I exercise. I never do then, just when I eat something really good, like Arkansas BBQ. Speaking of that, the group is planning on coming down June 21. I may not be able to come due to a Homecoming conflict. |

cochise, get rid of the soda alltogether(it will help keep your weight down. a guy my wife works with stopped the soda all together and from that alone over a period lost 30 lbs.) and cut out the red meat and fats. doesn't matter how old you are, knew one guy that was 15 back in school that had a minor one. |
