That is awesome. It's great to see someone making use of what he has, instead of using what he doesn't have as an accuse. |

OMG! That has got to be the coolest, strongest kid I've ever seen. I wish I had half the heart & spirit that he did. Simply incredible. |

Truly an inspiration. Great to see him working other kids in his situation. Might start seeing Wheelchair's in the X-games in the future. |

why I just watched that I dont know, but it reminded me of Jackass Really sad you would compare someone overcoming adversity to a bunch of retards hurting themselves for no reason other than stupidity. |

Very cool. What a brave kid. He really abused that wheelchair. I'm surprised the chair didn't just collapse after a couple of those landings. |

I'm surprised the chair didn't just collapse after a couple of those landings. There are as many different kinds of chairs as there are motorcycles. There are "motocross" chairs as well. Adults riding motocross type courses, powered by gravity and bravery. These guys are truly heroes of mine.

At the end of the video he thanks the guys who modified his chair to withstand the punishment he puts it through. Most people do not watch the credits so you might have missed it. |

I remember seeing the wheelchair guys when I was still racing downhill. I wished I could ride a rig like they do. It was always worth it to wait while they loaded these guys and the race chair on the lift. Years later, I raced with a guy who's father burned him with gas when he was 3 or 4 years old. 75% of his body and face. Killed the whole family that night. At 20 years old he started to race BMX at the local track. Missing all the fingers on both hands, he adapted SPD clip pedals to his handle bars and carbon fiber sleeves with cleats for his arms. Ingenous. He wasn't fast and didn't try to jump the big jumps but he was having fun. When asked if he was afraid to fall he chuckled "What should I be doing? Watching TV? I can't pick up the remote control to change the channel." What a great person. My wife and watched this program last night about kid dwarfs. Some kids on the program had such a bad self image. I thought if you could put these really small people (kids esp.)in a race car or go cart the self esteem would really get a boost. Even rc car racing could do wonders. It's amazing what a disabled person thinks a disability really is. |
