So my neighbor who has a '95 VFR tells me he went out to garage to "winterize" bike as he hasn't ridden in 2 weeks and cold weather is finally rearing it's head in these parts. He puts stabalizer in the tank and flips fuel switch to off position and proceeds to start bike to drain carbs........whiirrrrrVROOMMMpop! There on the ground behind his bike is a nicely constructed Mouse Nest.He had heard this happened to me with my VFR 2 years ago which I confirmed with a chuckle. He says" Damn the inner tube on that muffler ain't all that big, how'd the little f!@#$& get a nest in there!?" I say " are you kidding wait until you take your Airbox apart and find the filter gone (except rubber) and wonder how the bugger traveled between the two points!" Well he now learned the lesson I did 2 years ago. Store the bike ,Plug the pipe. I'd love to know which of natures little crawlies have caused havoc with anybody's bikes out there.I get a big kick out of the nature vs. tech thing. |

It wasn't my bike but my truck. The heater fan starts to make some noise. I think it is a pine needle that may have got sucked into it. A month goes by and I can't take the noise anymore! I pull the fan off to find insulation from the firewall in the fan. WHAT THE!!! Open the hood to see the little bastards had been eating my firewall clean!! |

LOL Back when I worked back at a dealer I got a call at my desk asking me to come back to service, they needed a opinion on a Buell back in service. I walk back to the mechanics bay who requested me. As I was walking up he yelled to me, "How many quarts of CORN does a Buell need?" and starts to laugh. I walk up to the bike and there is a HUGE pile of feed corn under the muffler outlet and more feed corn scattered around his bay. The guy who brought the bike in hadn't ran it in 2 years and it was stored in a shed. Mechanic replaced the battery and cranked it over and POOF, corn city LOL |

On a couple occasions I came out to the garage this past spring/summer and the little farkers had a little ear of feed corn/ or decorative yard crap from somewhere sitting right on the seat of my bike one day, another day I saw little footprints over the hood of one of my cars (it would be the nicest one that never leaves the garage) and a couple more ears of that corn in places it shouldn't be on my bike .... they did this overnight as I rode the thing everyday ... Luckily, nothing in the pipes ... |
