Okay - so it's no secret that Buell is dropping the XB9R in the US for 2008, but did anyone notice that it's already gone in Europe? Also, I seem to remember the Blast was popular in Europe as well, but none of them are showing a Blast over there for 2007. Am I finding old news? And I request that this doesn't turn into a "Oh boy! What's replacing the Firebolt? What's the next engine? Yadda yadda!" We have enough of those threads already. |

In England, the XB9R was dropped in 2005; the lineup was XB12R, XB12S and CityX. I've never seen a Blast on the road, and I don't think I ever will |

Yes there has - lol - as demos - and where even sold - grey market is wonderful - there are like a dozen in England, about six in Italy, and a few others where imported through private channels as well - did Buell officially sell any over there - probably not, however, they are there! Do a search on the UK Board - http://www.bike-pix.com/forum/index.php and be suprised, also there was a review from a British motorcycle mag about the bike when one of the folks snuck in a test ride - lol GT - JBOTDS! That's what they should have been selling with about a 650 to 700cc engine. |

raises the question in my mind... At what point is a Blast not a Blast? Maybe Im not looking hard enough but I see the motor, tranny case, handle bar controls and... thats about it. Can one take a blast motor, move it to a whole new chasis and call it a Blast? I know or dont think there is some written rules on this (thats funny talk) but where is the line drawn? I see more parts that make up the Blast missing then present. |

Frame is blast frame with a featherbed added, and the swing arm is a Blast swingarm modified - I know the only other maker is C&J for Blast Dirt/circle track and that is not it - lol - Thats GopherShack bodywork, and then the rearsets and other misc. pieces are custom - rather nicely done - adapting a lot Blast stuff and then customizing - its a Blast - a well done customized Blast! Me wants. There is an Island TT 500cc class out Seattle way that I would love to push that through the corners on . Would be nice to see a cafe style 500cc continue if they cancel the blast. |

Vaneo1 Posted on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 - 11:11 pm: raises the question in my mind... At what point is a Blast not a Blast? Here in CA, when the frame member that has the V.I.N. stamped (into it) is no longer attached to the rest. That bitch'n "little" tracker is "Blast Based", and to call it a Blast... well that would be blasphemous! |

Never mind E ticket. It is so wonderfully wonderful I want to ride it. Make that own it. It begs the question, why have Buell not done something similar, like BMW is doing with their 650 single by way of example? Rocket |

Sorry - The guy that did that only posted one pic - I found it doing a search on the UKBoard - http://www.bike-pix.com/forum/index.php He doesn't even say much about it, however, if you do a search, use Buell Blast - you should run into him on the first page of the search - then you could email him and ask - the nice thing about the UK is that they have great fabricators, if their electronics could catch up to Germany, they could then really start selling some stuff! - lol GT - JBOTDS! if the top neck of that frame with the vin is integrated into that boxed addition then it is all good. No more off the beaten path than what the HD guys are doing. You should hear them yammer about what is a harley, custom, chopper, bobber, hack, sled, classic, or retro. |

That's the Blast I want. That thing is excellent. I thought it was a C&J frame, I was looking seriously into making something like this, when an M2 came a calling my name. That is just awesome. |

Sexy sexy sexy, push the displacement out to 602, and come get my deposit. I have a dirty road out my way here that is begging to be the unofficial test ground for that bike. 6 miles and 66 corners, dirty, twisted hilly, and on the side of a cliff. I think I could go through faster on a lighter bike, my CityX is a bit heavy to push around like a dirt bike. |
