I'd bet money that his "secret fire road" mentioned in the review is Killen trail, http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Killen+Tra il,+CA&sll=33.095407,-117.261888&sspn=0.134032,0.2 59895&ie=UTF8&t=h&om=1&z=15&ll=33.590671,-117.3387 91&spn=0.016659,0.023775 . We did that one on our last group ride. It's a hoot on a Uly or TT, but the two baggers with us and even a firebolt scraped a few hard parts. Jumps and slides are typical fare on that road. It goes right by the Wildomar OHV area, so they probably took it off into the dirt a little. Al |

The Buell Super TT was very enthusiastically received at the Press intro in Los Angeles last week. |

Thats a good local run if you want to do a day trip in a Jeep, just don't forget your Adventure Pass! As for the TT, it has really grown on me. I would love top have that suspension on my CityX, I am sure I would enjoy the extra travel and ground clearance, however, I wouldn't want to put it on for the sake of having, just to find out that it has upset the excellet chassis dynamics of the short wheelbase bike. I think the Uly beak is cool looking and thought about putting it on my bike, but somehow, ehat looks great on a solid color bike, fails the design on a transparent-bodied bike, IMHO. Guess I'll be keeping the City Hero as-is, which isn't a bad thing. Good read! --Sean (Message edited by thespive on January 22, 2007) |

Do you suppose that, since they're phasing out the the XB9R, they may phase out the CityX and the TT is a replacement? You know, I've got work to do. I shouldn't be here thinking these thoughts..... |

No, I still believe the CityX will remain the entry level bike and keep the 9. I say that because I think it would be a shame to lose the 9 all together, especially as it attracts a younger buyer and allows them to afford insurance. Besides, I like the 9, feels more linear, a great motor. --Sean |

I played with a Firebolt 9 for a day back in the fall and had a great time on it. I'm also a City X fan, although I've never been on one. I just like the concept. I hope you're right. There's also talk on the Thumper Forum about them knocking off the Blast. Hope not. Geez, I've got to get to work |

In the article he mentions busting the TT sideways in the dirt. Now that would have made a good picture! I'm still wondering why no one is campaining an XB in flat track racing. Probably something in the rules that excludes them. |

They have to keep the nine motor! Its the only way to get BLACK cases. It hides the dirt and muck that I am riding through so well. |

What is the writer doing with his foot in that riding pic? It looks damn uncomfortable and highly dangerous. I thought it was knee dragging not ankle bounding. |

The City Cross is a top seller I doubt they'll discontinue it. I'm thinking the 9R doesn't sell nearly as much as the 12R because those who seek sportbikes usually want the most powerful one & for Buell that's the 12R. It probably just isn't cost effective to keep putting it out on the market. |

Yeah, the top pic in that article looks bad-ass... probably the single best TT pic I've seen. On a side note, I think they SHOULD drop the Blast... and replace it with a new single cylinder bike! The Blast is lookin' pretty outdated. It needs a new design, something to tie it in a little closer to the XB line, and make it a tad sportier. ~SM |

There's a plot afoot on the Thumper Forum to drop a souped-up Blast engine in an XB frame......Works for me. I think they'll keep some sort of beginner bike in the mix if only to keep the Riders Edge program going. Some dealers have found it VERY profitable and I can't imagine HD/Buell wanting to use Nighthawks in the program. |

Do you think they will have one in the Demo fleet @ March Badness? I would love to ride one! |

I test rode the TT today at SMHD. It was Sweet! The clutch, shift, suspension, all work perfectly together! Even the seat was cool. If I had my 'druthers, I'd have a Ulysses for my daily bike, and a TT for solo hooliganism. |

Isn't that funny, the bike looks so much better in these pictures from MD, then any that Buell has posted in their website, or any that have been posted here. It actually is quite good looking in these photos, those goofy plates don't look bad at all. |

Wait 'till you see one in the metal. The TT looks a whole lot better that the pics make it look. Kinda like how much better Barricade Orange looks in real life, while in the early pictures, it looked yellow. |

So, that pic with the foot hanging off for stability kinda creeped me out. I understand that dirt bikers use that to help control skids (I think). On a bike that heavy though, wouldn't that just cause bad things to happen if your foot came in contact with the pavement? And by heavy, I mean heavy in relation to a dirt bike. I've never been on a dirt bike, so I have experience with that style of riding, but that just didn't look right to me. Any thoughts? -Heath |

Cityxr-you coming to MBIV? If you head up to the Dragon on any given weekend, you'll catch some supermotard'rs(?) running the tail WOT with the bike pretty much leaning onto the leg that is stuck out infront! Scary and exciting in one site! |

I find it is never a good idea to put your foot down on the ground while the bike is in motion. Especially in the dirt. I always knew this, but one time I made a big mistake.-- I was off work on Columbus day. I took a ride in the woods on my CZ. I had a young lady passenger on back. We were going down a steep hill. It was that greasy black mud. The trail made a sharp 180 turn, the bike began to slide. If I had been alone I would have let it slide, but i didn't want to get her muddy. I put my right boot on the ground to keep the bike upright, the boot dug into the mud, catching a tree root. I looked down to see my right foot - toes forward under my right hip. I moved my leg back to where it belonged, but, of course, the knee was gone. After surgery and extensive re-hab I was able to walk in about 3 months. |

Ouch that doesn't sound too fun Old Man. I think I'll keep my feet on the pegs! I'm not going to be able to make it to MBIV this time around. That would definitely be something to see though, maybe someone will get some videos to post up here? :-D -Heath (Message edited by cityxr on January 24, 2007) |
