Make sure you read all the posts. I met him this afternoon with a group of other Newfoundlanders. He rode a GS650 from Vancouver Island to St. John's, Newfoundland in the middle of winter. Rode through temps down as low as -61, wind and rain here on the island today was as high as 70-80mph. Then just as he was arriving the sun broke through. What a story and adventure, he is at my place now telling me about it. Paul Monder's Ride Across Canada in January 2007 |

Due to weather he may be going State Side? If there are any fellow riders out there that can help a friendly Canadian go to ADVRIDER and let him know. |

Well, Major shift in the weather has made him change his mind. Flying back to British Columbia and shipping the bike. What an adventure. |

I don't blame him. He certainly doesn't have anything to prove anymore. I think he's shown us all what a man & a bike are capable of if the mind & heart are strong enough. I think Paul's are stronger than most |

Wow, that's the trip I always wanted to do. Start at the 0 mile marker in Vancouver Island and go the 3000 + miles to St. John's. I would pick some summer vacation though, say maybe August, when the black flies are all but gone!! When I was in St. John's last time I met a guy who did the same trip on a bicycle. He had a little more time off! We hoisted a beer in his honor at Trapper John's museum and pub. After talking to him a while I found out he was quite the ASS. He started talking about how stupid the locals were. I asked him if he knew how to get a ship out of the harbor and into the open sea without hitting anything? His answer was no, so I called him a stupid assxxxx!! I was pissed I had bought him a beer!! The Newfie's were all great folks and I look forward to my next trip there no matter where I start from! |
