And that sure looks like a long-sleeved t-shirt the guy's wearing! And no helmet! Can you say frostbite? |

Fingerless gloves? He should at least be wearing ass-less chaps to protect his jeans from the elements. Seriously, he is either a total stud or a total idiot. |

I rode home from the dealership a few days ago in 28 degrees and flurries. That's about as hardcore as I get. That guy's nuts! |

It doesn't look that bad Several years ago I had to dig my bike out from under the snow, push it as far as the main road, dig/kick through the snow plough wash with my hands and feet and then ride to work because the freakin' car couldn't move in any direction. Now that's hardcore Unless you guys know different of course...bring it on |

I've spent several winters without a car; both in Colorado Springs and in Massachusetts. The coldest I've been out on a bike was -7F. ANYBODY who is on a bike at -16 gets my respect, and deserves the term Hardcore. I can relate to that particular form of insanity. |

LOL - I think it was either 1990 or 1991 I rode my old Suzuki GS400 all winter in Calgary. I think the coldest morning was about -36*C ... snowmobile gear is your friend at those temps! *** just for the record though, riding in real gear at those temps isnt as bad as many people think. so long as you're wind proof, you can stay warm, so the difference between 0*, and minus whatever isnt as noticeable as +40 to 0. |

The cat in this thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10 9911 Just made it to St'Johns Newfoundland. He left B.C. on Jan 1 and rolled all the way across Canada on a BMW 650 Dakar in January. That's some determination. I read his whole story yesterday and today. Very inspiring. Our own Buelling Newfie was there to meet him on his Dnepr. Then he went to the wrong donut shop. Check it out, it's some amazing tale. |
