lol Diablobrian , one of my most favorite is my colt delta elite 10 mm . i have 2 dillon pistol presses set up one is for 45's the other for 10 's and yea the 10 scared many but the 40 has really caught on . but hey some are scared of the 454 cassul too ;-P |

I've also got a love for Dan Wesson revolvers (miss my 41v) and wish I could find a Wesson arms 414 supermag.
Back when I was shooting silouettes a friend had some really nice revolvers he would bring out, 500 Linebaugh,
357 maximum and of course the 454 Casull.
The Linebaugh was simply amazing craftsmanship, but then again it had to be 
About the same time I was doing the silouette game the .50ae desert eagle came out,
I went down to the local indoor range to shoot after work. The only lane open was next
to the guy with the Desert Eagle and no one wanted it. I took it and put in a few
of my "firewall loads" in it. the Hodgson 110 ball powder that I was using had a huge
muzzle flash and a rather ummmm sharp report, even with the 9" barrel
For once the guy with the DE stepped back from the line to ask "What the hell was that?"
I bought it with the 9", 6" barrels which I used, but it also had a little 2 1/2 or 3"
barrel that seemed really silly on such a large frame revolver. It wasn't like it could
be used in an ankle holster after all. |

Dan Wesson 357 with a 16 inch chromed-blue barrel(interchangable also), best gun I ever owned. Had the rear ramp set so that only I knew where to place the target. DEADLY accurate everytime. If I could find another I'd buy it! |

I still laugh when they say on tv or in the movies "He's out of pistol range!" when
someone is still inside 100 yards. At that range a center body mass shot should not be
that hard.
I guess they are mirroring the current trend of cops only practicing enough to barely pass
qualifications. It's no wonder they fire 37 times and only hit the things they are not
aiming at, kind of like the bangers and their "spray and pray" shooting come to think of it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very pro-cop, my grandfather was a chief of police in my home
town years ago. I just think that someone who carries a gun every day to work should be
at least proficient in it's use, even if they aren't a marksman.
I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only one on the board that has cursed a steel target
that rang and spun, but would not fall down!!!! |

Shooting practice is always fun but not for everyone. It can vary from shooter to shooter.

I own an SW40VE, it is a very good gun for the money.
I actually prefer the Sigma over my Springfield XD40.
One reccomendation I have if you do pick up the 40VE is to switch out the springs for something a little softer. She's a tight long pull which can be irritating in a follow-up shot.
It is designed nicely with much regard to simplicity.
Under my bed:
Smith and Wesson SW40VE
US Navy issued 12 guage
Springfield XD40 (My tacticle light is lower profile, it doesn't stick out as much)
H&K MC51 - Mine has the collapsible stock and is not made by Toyko Mauri! lol
Browning .22LR auto
Marlin Golden 39a Mountie .22LR
Remmington 700 in .300 Win Mag w/Leupold optics (3 groupings @ 100yds under an inch.

My daily carry is a Glock 29 (10mm) and love it! Been thinking about getting a Ruger .45LC, used to have one years ago in a 7.5" barrel. Wish I never got rid of it.

I bought the wife a Browning Hi-Power in 40S&W. She wanted a double stack pistol...and IMO it is the best. You can't beat a tried and true single action in steel. |
