78 Triumph Spitfire I'm guessing the 4 wheel toy? When I was 16 I had a '72 Triumph Spitfire to drive. I loved that little car! I will have another rag top again! | ||

Hey Neil, Yes and No...I love em and Hate the company all at the same time...it is weird, every time I am on them..just like other things..you forget that you want them gone..I still think the best thing to do is to sell them..but I worry about what kind of home they will get..if they are taken care of..will the new owner ride them good and not tear them up, change the oil and keep them clean..I just don't know if I can do it man!!!!!!!!!!! Send me an email with the address of the meeting and if I am not tearing down the X1 saturday I may come up for a ride. | ||

I have the Firebolt, my '03 Kawi Z1000 and two Honda CT70's bought as pit bikes for the race car trailer. One of the Hondas is getting sold soon so that I can get a Micron Exhaust for the 'Bolt ! | ||

I'm down to only 2 bikes lately. Had as many as 7 if you count a couple that I 'co-owned' with friends as project bikes. Currently: '94 FLHR & my '91 RS1200 'S2T/turbo' I hate to say it but the Buell tends to sit while I take the RoadKing out. I've always had a liking for the FL type Harleys and have had many, from a 48UL, (that's a 1200cc flathead for you young whippersnappers) to many panheads, shovels, a couple Indians (real ones from Springfield) and an Evo or 2. I have never been all that comfortable on the Buell (or on my wife's S2T that she used to own) even though it is HUGE fun to ride! I have had a couple of tentative trades going but nothing yet. Anybody got a 'cop' dresser, FXR, FXDX, FLHT or similar for a really cool Buell? AL | ||

I had a 1977 RD400 after college..man what a fun ride...loud as hell..rear brake would never work right..lock up all the time..but it would wheelie like there was no tomorrow...sweet bike. | ||

Hey Liquorwhere, I understand. Even when the Wing's electrics died and I knew I wasn't going to try and make fits-all parts fit and spend six months tracking down leads, I couldn't let it rot in my carport and I couldn't just sell it to anybody. I found the guy who owned it before me and now it's in his heated garage slowly being restored. I refuse to talk about my Sportster and CB 350. They just take a piece of you with them when you sell them. | ||

Bryan, Man do they ever take it with you, I dream about bikes I used to own...more than ex-girlfriends!! I miss the bikes more too..for certain. It is so hard to sell those five..I build that dresser from the ground up, the X1 I purchased broken and have been slowly putting it right, the next one is the little X90..close to my first bike, it was a Harley 60, my Dad still has that one. My Springer was the first New Harley I had ever purchased, the Firebolt was the first New Buell I had ever purchased, man these things have so much value in so many ways to me, it is just difficult to even think about. I have had so many come and go, it just kills me sometimes thinking about things I owned..1977 KZ 550 LTD in PERFECT condition while in High School..I also had a 1943 45cube HD with a sidecar still painted olive drab with a star on it..still had the leather rifle holster!! I sold that to a Colonel while I was in the Army..I am a dumba$$ about that one..I rode that bike for five years, snow, rain, sun..man..I just don't want to have another regret and sell any of these...alright..done whining..lol. sorry folks | ||

Between my wife and I we have: '81 KZ440 - Nice vintage begging to be converted to a cafe racer. '86 DR125 - My first bike, needs some carb work. 93 DR650 - Bulletproof Dual-Sport I put knobbies on it and geared it down. A killer woods machine. '01 Buell S3T - the most comfortable sport-touring bike that I have ever ridden. '03 Buell Blast So much fun!!! '04 Buell XB12R - Teaches me something new everytime I ride it. '04 Concours -Phenomenal classic touring bike. Exceeds bulletproof status. Nothing better for the price. '05 Ninja 500R - my wife's main ride I don't get to touch it. She loves it. 2000 800 Drifter - funky retro cruiser. Reliable and stylish. What can I say? I wanted a cruiser. | ||

Ulywife, yeah the Spitfire is a 4-wheel toy. My wife has her learner's permit, but due to work and other things, she hasn't had much chance to practice riding (she's had to renew her learner's once already). When she heard a friend of mine was selling the car, she said "Hey, that'd be fun to own!" Enough said--I got a great deal on the car, it's in incredible shape and runs well. I'll be doing some restoration work on it, but it's driveable as-is, right now--and more importantly, my wife can drive it and enjoy it without having to learn a new skillset or get a special license. Actually, the Spit is a ton of fun--kinda like a street-legal go-cart for adults! It has less horsepower than my XB9R, though...definitely all about handling, not about power (kinda like a Buell). In a way, the Spit is more like having another bike than a car. Here she is:  | ||

Currently have: 2006 Uly 2007 Electra Glide Ultra Classic 2002 KTM520EXC 1993 Yamaha GTS1000 You can never have to many bikes, unless they do not fit in the garage anymore. I am that point no more room. Found a 1986 VF1000R for sale near me I would love to add to the garage though. | ||

It's nice to know I'm not alone, Dale. People think I'm a freak because I "love" my vehicles to the point of naming them and talking with them whenever I want to choke the living @#$* out of other people. Good therapy. There's been Herbie, Heinrich and Bertold the VWs, Hiro and Ru the Subarus, Yoda Corolla, Hank the Sportster, C.B. and Goldie, and now Thumper. None of my vehicles have left me stranded in the nearly 1 million miles I've driven over 32 years and it's not because I'm a mechanic. I think it's because I care about them on a personal level. Damn, I am a freak.  | ||

Bryan, I know what you mean, but dood the hardest thing to do at the end of the day is figure out which one to ride at that moment. About four weeks ago I rode all five bikes in one day on decent rides, but they need more than that...stupid work gets in the way...oh well..and the names..well all of mine are girl names..just like my M16 was!! Ride low!! | ||

It's weird but some of my vehicles have had definite gender personalities. The Sportster was definitely a guy. He wanted to wheelie, to snort, scream and skip a gear just to play a joke on you. The Gold Wing was a true lady. She wanted you to pay attention and calm down and don't do anything stupid. My Toyota is female, my Mazda Van (Molly) was female, my 4WD Subaru was definitely a guy. It's cool to have a mistress and a best buddy in the garage ready to go anytime you are. | ||
