ACTUALLY I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST............

If you think buell is manufacturing "high end" exotic motorcycles, you are deluded.

£8000 in 1998 was a truck load of wonga for an S1W. I thought it was pretty exotic back then. As well as exclusive eight gee's was bloody expensive too!

I could have bought a brand new Hayabusa in July 1999 (I very nearly did) for £5000. A 916 was close to £8000 in 1998 too.

Have XB's not carried on this tradition? I thought they had to some degree, and the Blast detracts from that.

Best count me deluded.

Speaking of cheap bikes... I came across this one on the SPEED forums.

It's some Chinese 125cc (note kickstart) thing goes for something in the neighborhood of $1500. Not that I'd buy one, but personally, I think the styling is kickass.

I'm avoiding America Ezee. Some people want to shoot me, lol.

When I lose about 60lbs is more correct though. My health since the thyroid thing is finally coming back to me. I've been pretty shagged for the past two years, and only now is my fitness ready to be worked on.

Thanks.

I dig the Blast, especially like how EZ and others have customized them. In the raw it ain't much to look at. I don't think it's ugly.

I think the Brutale is ugly. That giant radiator and goiterous IL4 bulging out of the frame is hideous.

If you like that kind of bike, all techno-gadgety like, I suggest the new Aprilia. The slimmer engine is much nicer looking.

I'm a fan of less is more. Buell nails that.

Woody, there's a bit of a stink about Saddam's demise been shown on Youtube, though I did hear the rope is on eBay!!!!!

Blake, the CJ framed flat tracker is the best.

You do know, oh of course you do, the Brutale is touted by the world motorcycle press as the best looking motorcycle ever. Of course, I'd expect it would not suit your taste, lol.

I too wonder about that big chest pouting stance the Brutale has, but stood near one it's a pretty small bike, which is another reason I've not bothered yet. Need to shed those pounds! A belly pan does look good on the Brutale though.

"Streetable means that they do not overheat in traffic. The full fairing really restricts air flow when not moving...little fan or no little fan, them suckers would get hot in a heartbeat in the summer. Race bikes can get away with it for obvious reasons."

Suzuki has done it for many many years with the Katana, they have a full front fairing. Maybe when the liquid cooled motor comes in a couple of years, we will see a full race fairng?

Hey R-Man, Strong opinions are fun, especially when they belong to someone else. You can come on over anytime and go riding with me. I'll just rent an XB so you'll feel comfortable.

Rocket, I meant you no offense. And I definatly agree that your 98 S1W was an exotic bike, and still is. But, Buell is no longer the company it was in 1998. It turned down the path of Jaguar, so to speak; going from handmade exotics, to more of a mainstream BMW rival.

And yet, we should not be upset by this - its a good thing. It means more of us can afford and enjoy them.

So, I'm saying to claim the Blast detracts somehow from the XB is like saying the Base model BMW 1 series detracts from the Z4 M.

Hmmm if I worked for the Buell company Directly?...
I would be at the Dealership in Moscow Russia converting people to the Buell brand by riding cross country.
ON bikes.
1) A Blast based true dirt bike similar to the MT500 that is made for the military.
2) Real ground clearance for the CityX, maybe some flat track XR750 esque exhuast
3) The ability to walk with the bike through the build process and add parts from the bins to get the exact ergos and colors. ie uly bars on CityX, ss swing arm
4) A dash with an integrated GPS, that will toggle to a speedo, tach and GAS gauge display. even if only a accessory purchase.
5) Decent s-3t bag replacements (not as fat as the uly bags)
6) No more pasta strainers on the Lightnings rear section.
7) True Bright lights for the bike from the factory.
8) Availability of an adventure Side car/ hack for the ULy or new BlasTT ;)
9) sponsor promote and compete in the Pikes Peak Race, Baja 1000, and Dakar : D
10) National B.R.A.G. replacement

See you in March Court

Notices that in the last two weeks the dirt bike offering is coming true in two years, albeit probably not blast based. Get on with the Bendy and the Dirty : D I have to start squirrelling away a deposit now. I suppose I could sell the house and live in a travel trailer next to a 1000sq ft garage. Looks like the owners group is being up dated, and I have found a GPS bike insturement dash panel. Three out of 10, not a bad start
