Don't know if this has been discussed before. All I can say is...........wow that is an ugly f'n bike. Atleast the tailpipes aren't big as CANNONS! Wouldn't mind having a hydraulic clutch though.... http://www.suzukibking.co.uk/ |

Speaking of ugly bikes with tailpipes like cannons, I've ridden a Yamaha MT-01.. |

I agree hideous, to each their own... I bet right now on every KawaZukiHonda website there is at least one thread where someone goes: "Hey, check out the new Buell TT... isn't that fugly." Never cared for the Power Ranger styling myself. But then again maybe they're picking up on the Buell philosophy. Instead of JUST pipes they are also supposed to be used as number plates. Ya know, multifunctional. |

B-King? Is this a bike named after a hamburger outlet? Burger King continues to advertise the various sandwiches aimed at the crowd that likes to eat without regard for the consequences. And now Suzuki is trying to get them going through the drive through on a motorcycle? Jack |

Originally it was called the Boost king. In concept form it was powered by a supercharged'busa motor. Then it was going to be a supercharged gsxr1000 motor, but eventually it got watered down to what you see now, a "tuned for mid range" (translation: detuned) gsxr1k motor. **Yawn** but they kept the name . Kind of an all of the name without having to bother yourself with all of that power. This king of mentality is what brought us the Kawasaki "Eliminator" 250 which is a fun little bike, but an "Eliminator"? I don't think so. It deserves that title just as much as the bike in the link above deserves the name boost-king. |

Hey if they want that bike to be King of the B grade bikes then I say "let em have that title" |

"I've ridden a Yamaha MT-01.." As far as I'm concerned... that's the bike that proves the Japanese can't do it better. Just about any tube framer has a higher performance envelope (with fewer cubes) and less weight than that hideous Yamaha. An XB flat out kills that bike. |

Concept They seem to have kept the looks of the concept. But lost the supercharger. Is that really a surprise? It is disappointing that they went with the 1000cc motor instead of the 1300cc Busa engine. I'm sure there will be a turbo or supercharger kit available pretty soon. But yeah the name really only fits the concept. Maybe it could be thought of as the Bandit-King. But what do I care... it's not like I'm going to buy one either way. |

I saw the original concept bike at the NEC show some years ago. From what I recall, when they were talking back then about producing them, I thought they'd never do it it was that bold a concept. I also remember thinking how good it looked, though I too am not into the 'power ranger' look either. I have Googled but can't find a pic of the original concept with the Busa supercharged (or was it turbo?) engine, but my memory is telling me it was far better looking than that hideous monstrosity they've produced. Unless of course my tastes back then were questionable? Help! Rocket |

I don't like it. I've never been a fan of Suzuki's styling. Just add this one to the list.

Yep, sure is futuristic but definitely not simplistic. Imagine how expensive it would be if you ever dropped one. Personally, I think it makes the Buell line up look even better. Especially in the functionality department. |

How can they call it "ULTIMATE"? They have incorporated none of the advancements that Buells have? The fuel is carried too high, the front brakes are so old school, and what is that THING sticking out the back? |

That thing is just a big complicated looking mess. If I wrote a review on it, it would read something like "overcomplicated and hyper-engineered for purposes of enticing one into thinking it is the 'ultimate' motorcycle simply by presenting an ultra-modern, robotic, techno-gadget looking package" Or as I would really say it, "That thang's got too many D@## parts to it!" Erik Buell's concept of "making as many parts as possible perform multiple functions" has given his bikes a simplistic beauty all it's own. There's nothing there to clutter it up. The idea of not seeing the forest for the trees comes to mind in this comparison of the Buells to that utter disaster of a bike that this thread is about. my $.02 (on credit) |
