IMS is a LOT easier to get to than Laguna Seca too (just not as scenic). |

Sounds like a natural to me. Track with a history makes history. |

Speedway becomes road race course? What am I missing here? It's not working for Daytona, why Indy? |

They already run a leg of Formula 1 there. The place is absolutely HUGE, by the way. Go to this link: http://www.indy500.com/trackmap/flashmap.html and check out just how big that facility is. |

check out just how big that facility is. That is HUGE! But, isn't it still an oval? Are they going to build an infield road course, kind of like Daytona, or is there already one there? Sorry I know very little about Indy. Too bad after all that construction building Barber, a purpose MotoGP track, they have yet to hold a MotoGP race. Now THAT would be easy for the East Coast to get to. |

I would much rather go to Barber, what a track! But I would settle for indy. Been there a few times for the Indy 500, great museum too. |

IF it happens, it won't be until 2008. That would give IMS +/- 18 months to do any kind of course construction/safety barriers/event promotion etc. The story link in the first post said that Laguna has a 3 year non compete clause that MotoGP wouldn't have any other races in the US, '07 is the last year for that agreement. |

IMS has had an infield road course for quite some time now. You don't think they ran Formula 1 on the squared oval, do you?? |

Not a big fan of the road course at indy.It will be neat to see 2 rounds here in the U.S.,but I 'd rather see them run Watkins Glen . The F1 race at indy is not good, maybe there will be some changes to the layout. |

Watkins Glen is downright DANGEROUS for motorcycles! Have you looked at the runout areas in the turns? No? That's because there AREN'T any! I'm surprised Keith Code still runs California Superbike School there. Pridmore gave up on it years ago for C.L.A.S.S. |

The F1 race at indy is not good, maybe there will be some changes to the layout There will be changes to the F1 course and it will be run in te opposite direction (counter-clockwise). |

That looks like a very boring course judging by the track map. It looks too straight. I would still like to go however. |

Boring, well maybe if you watch it on T.V. I never get bored AT the races. |

I think that track would actually be quite interesting to see a race at. The facility is basically a 1 mile x .5 mile rectangle. So half a square mile. That is still insanely large when you think about it. It would take you twenty minutes just to walk it the long way. I hope and pray this happens. |

Although the boring part would be how flat that track is. I didnt think about that. Laguna is interesting in that sense. |

Just try to imagine the speeds they could hit on a track like that... even with the smaller 800cc bikes! |
