From a 1991, the seller says it is from a S2 but it is from a RS or a RSS, you could even use it for a RR1200... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUELL-S2-LIGHTNING- 1200-TUBE-FRAME-USED-FOR-AMA-RACING_W0QQitemZ13005 7245020QQihZ003QQcategoryZ35562QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewIte m#ebayphotohosting |

That reminds me. I had to get a new frame for my S1 from Buell a few years go. The reason was not mechanical. It had to do with the almighty paperwork. I had it into the dealer for all the recalls. The dealer had trouble getting their payment for the recall work out of HD because the VIN number on my fram did not match the VIN number they had in their database. According to the VIN on the frame, my bike belonged to somebody in Canada. After much headscratching and help from the dealer, they understood the error was committed when the bike was first sold to me and the Certificate of Origin was incorrectly filled out. I thought.. ok. Just grind down the VIN number on my frame and make it match the paperwork (my title had the right VIN number matching HD's). That suggestion did not fly. HD decided to make this right they had to send me a frame with the correct VIN punched into it. So therefore, my 96 S1 now match paperwork all around! No complaints here. But, if one were to get that particular frame up for bidding on eBay. How in the world do you get it registered? Asbjorn |

That's the A-hole that sold me a bad part for my S1W. I'd be leery about the quality of the frame. He doesn't seem to know is azz from a hole in the ground!!! |

ok, school me here. what years would the rs1200 come in blue and had the flip up back seat? i was thinking it would be an 89. a friend of mine bought one brand new. built the hell out of the motor and got second in the all harley drags with it long ago. he had it for awhile and then another friend of mine bought it. he tried to sell it to me a few years ago, but it was before i was actually into buells and didnt really know much about it. he moved and i kind we kind of lost track of each other, but i have been thinking about looking him up and seeing if he has it and wants to get rid of it. i like that one because i know it's whole life history. wonder how many are left? Check with your local DMV about the VIN number issue. Here in CA it might be an impossible deal. Removing VIN and substituting another is considered a FELONY in CA - don't know how it is looked on in other states. Race-only hardware might be iffy. Good deal IF you can get it registered. |

I bought a NIB S1 battery replacement kit. All I really needed as the strap but the kit (on ebay) was less than a new strap from DaveS. I specifically asked if the kit was complete and INCLUDED the strap. He replied that it was complete with the strap. The kit came....no strap! I emailed asking what was up. No response to 3 or 4 emails. Then I filed a complaint with Paypal. Got denied from Paypal. At that point I left a negative feedback on ebay. The jackass then leaves a retalitory feedback on my account. About a month later I get a box of straps on ebay from a BWB member. At that point, I decide to remove the aftermarket battery and use the new battery from the kit. Guess what....the battery is a POS also!!! Based on my bad experience, I wouldn't purchase anything site-unseen again from him. Who knows what may have happened to this frame in the past 15 years!!! |

You know, this is just another reason why Ebay is really pissin me off. Seems like a lot of the time, if you're not trying to get scammed, you're getting just barely what they say that product is. Used to be safe. Now, it's just loaded with B.S. I still look, but, man, I hate that it's become so EXTREMELY dishonest a lot of the time. There's a lot of good Ebayers out there. But, man, there sure seem to be a growing number of jackballs too. Mark |
