"Join me and together we can rule..." After weeks of wrangling (incredible) I have arranged a test ride on an 06 Fireblade this weekend. The forecast is for cold weather but hey as long as it's dry I don't care. Will I be tempted from my Firebolt ? We shall see... |

If it is a CBR600, probably not. If it is a CBR1000... hmm.. maybe. The CBR 1K is quite a torque machine. Asbjorn |

I still get fired up riding the old 900RRs Love those things, especially with a little modernization... The 1000RR, and the 954.... Yeah, you will be tempted... Me? HA, I am not allowed to ride a liter bike.. |

Straight line speed sure, handling, not a chance. Enjoy the ride. You should take a friend along ( with same ability) and beat his ass on your bolt. that in itself will make your choice for you. Like I said, in a straight line the Fireblade is great, hit the nasty curves and it, for lack of a better word.... sucks. My opinion only. |

I have had very limited time on one but was very impressed with it's handling. Great bike. My friend has had 2 (one stolen), and the 954 before that. That being said he is now riding a RC51 and likes it even better. |

Oh yeah. I personally like the 1000RR better. The RC has a crazy seat position. It also feels much bigger to me. |

The Dark Side? Where? What? Um, I don't mean to nit pick, but I don't think that changing from one sportbike to another brand, regardless of Country of origin manufactor constitutes going to the Dark Side. The Dark Side is reserved for those who switch bikes/rides to, don't make me say it, CRUISERS,CHOPPERS, arrrrrr: there now I've gone and said it anyways. soap, soap wash my mouth out with soap. The Dark Side indeed? |

The real Dark Side is to sell the bike(s) because your wife has told you to go and buy a minivan. Asbjorn |

LOL - the Dark side is taking your stock bike and personalizing it while making it faster and better handling, some would say turning it into a street fighter, however, the difference would be in the personification of the bike to reflect the owner. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |
