Well I got one last good ride in on the Buell today, before I head out to Baja in the morning. Going to be down there for 7 days with no internet access...ahhhh! But, I am going to have fun. I'll be riding shotgun for Rod Hall Racing/Team HUMMER #861 Hummer H2 for a 200-mile leg Thurs night in the Baja 1000. This will be the first year I am actually in the race and not on the sidelines. You should be able to check up on our progress live at www.rodhallracing.com. Wish us luck! --Sean |

I saw that movie Dust to Glory a little while back. The Baja 1000 is very cool. I'm going to have to check it out pretty coon. One guy rode the entire 1000 miles on a dirt bike by himself, non-stop. Talk about needing a nap at the end of the day. Oh, yeah and he finished the race with a broken rib and some other injuries after crashing in the middle of the night somewhere near the finish. |

Yeah, that was Mouse McCoy, talk about grit! Dana did an AMAZING job on Dust to Glory and I highly recommend it to anyone, even if desert racing is not your thing. It is one of the best docu movies I have ever seen and the cinematography is just incredible. Now the truck is packed and if Buell would just show a damned picture of the new bike from the press conference going on now, I can get out of here! Sad, huh? The truck I rode in has won something like 13 of its last 14 races and won its class in the 1000 last year, so with any luck we'll be repeating again. Here is are a couple of pics of me in the passenger seat coming off the line at the Terrible Town 250 this past April, where I co-drove the first half of the race and we won our class. For anyone intereted the article I wrote for it will be on the newsstand in the Jan issue of Four Wheeler, available in a couple weeks. --Sean |

I was flipping channels a month or so ago and stubbled onto "Dust to Glory" on a free movie channel week. It's AWESOME!! I had no intention of sitting down to really "watch" T.V. that night but I couldn't leave the set!! I highly recommend it!! Of course we're all jealous, can you give us some stats on the truck? Have a great time!! |

Thanks guys! D2G is one of the best documentaries ever. I highly recommend Dust to Glorty to anyone who wants to watch a great story with amazing cinematography. All the stats on the truck are at www.rodhallracing.com. Basically it is stock class, which means it is the same truck you can buy at the dealer with modifications limited to safety, shocks, tires, some engine tweaks, etc. Even has to retain the stock dash. Which means, wheel travel is in to the 9-12-inch range, while the trophy trucks have up to 36-inches or so, so it is a very challenging class. Rod came in 3rd place in stock mini, which gave him enough points to win this season's championship. Unfortunately Chad and the H1 didn't finish, but it is a new race truck and has some more sorting out to do. It should be dialed in by next season. I have been lucky to co-drive the H2 twice this season, what a ride. Basically when I co-drive I am responsible for communications, navigation, diagnostics, watching for vehicles coming behind us, blasting the train horn, etc. it is a full-time job. But what a ride! Almost as fun as my Buell... --Sean (Message edited by thespive on November 20, 2006) |
