In this month's Enthusiast magazine, they talk about MoCo's new EPA/street legal Screaming Eagle slip-onsfor the new TC96s and the better sound and performance they offer. So maybe there is hope that better sounding, better performing pipes/mufflers that pass noise laws will be available for those of us who live in noise sensative communities or don't want to have to wear ear plugs when we ride... --Sean |

Even with the stock Buell muffler, on rides longer than 30 min, I wear ear plugs. I can't take the wind noise anymore. |

On the subject of wind noise, I have found that it is the shape of my helmet causing all the sound. When I lean my head way back so the bottom of the helmet is level with the ground, the noise almost completely disappears. When I shop for a new helmet I'll be looking for one with the visor situated down lower for better ergos. |

Yeah, my HJC was actually quieter than my new Shoei - by a lot. But there is certain frequency with the Race pipe that doesn't agree with my right ear, plus everytime I was on PCH or downtown, I kept getting the evil eye from the cops. Now I am running stock pipe with '07 airbox mod, race ECM, and K&N and it is more comfortable for me to ride (both in sound level and not having to worry about an exhaust . Obviously an edge has been taken off of the power, but it is better than stock and the bike is running great with the current setup. --Sean |
