First they announce that BRAG is no more and then I see that there isn't even a mention of Buell in the latest Enthusiast mag, not even an advertisement... am I just getting paranoid? jimidan |

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean that you aren't on to something. I guess I shouldn't be posting this yet, but everybody is going to know soon enough. Ducati just bought Buell. Going to sell them at Ducati dealers. Going to change the name from " Brag" to " Drag". Seriously. Apparently, they wanted to get the Buell engine technology, and the ZTL brake. They are not going to "Fuel in Frame": not enough room in the trellis frame. Not sure if all of this is 100% correct. I got the info on an Hungarian Supermoto site, that has been pretty reliable in the past. ( They called Rossi's dive in the last race:-).

When "enthusiast" comes to my house, I promptly toss it in the recycling bin without so much as opening it. What a waste of paper. I wish they would stop sending it to me. The "lifestyle" gags me... |

Jon sez: "Ducati just bought Buell. Going to sell them at Ducati dealers. Going to change the name from " Brag" to " Drag". Seriously." So...I guess when we go to gatherings that we all have to dress up like girls? If you think the lifestyle gags you, try some of The Creed: "We believe that the machine that you sit on can tell the world exactly where you stand." So...make up your mind, are you sitting or standing? You can't have it both ways! "I believe that when you're on a Harley you're never riding alone." You are unless you paid cash for it. "Life in the wind is the only way to live it! Freedom is just a handlebar away!" So take off those big batwing fairings and be really free. jimidan (Message edited by jimidan on November 07, 2006) |

A number of brothers have wondered out loud how the Ducati rumor could be true. Well, it seems like Ducati is getting tired of the Desmo thing, Getting old.I mean they have been doing it for over fifty years, for goodness sake! Once they got hammered by the XBRR, they decided to go to OHV, air cooled, two valve technology. Only makes sense, am I right, my brothers? ( I do believe they will be sticking with chain drive:-) However, as always, I don't believe in ANY web log until Court says " Accurate", or " Inaccurate" as the case may be. Mr. Canfield, may we have the envelope?

hey maybe if we perpetuate the rumor it will come true and we can buy buells and buell parts from dealers that actually give a shit about sport bikes . walking into a buell dealership and not having to go find the back corner they stuck the buells after walking through acres of chrome lay-z-boys on streoids . yea that would suck NOT !!!!!! |

Finding the Buell section in a H-D shop is a heck of alot easier than finding a Ducati dealer PERIOD. None in my part of the country, but then again why would I look for one ? |

My Ducati dealer is in the same building as my Honda dealer, which is right beside my Buell dealer. It is almost one stop shopping. I took it as a joke that Ducati bought Buell, wasn't it? jimidan |

Are you ready to pay $$$$$Ducati$$$$$ prices for parts? I think not! I owned a 916 at one point, years ago. Its like having a exotic Italian car, you may be able to make the car payment and barely get by with the insurance. But just wait till something goes wrong (and it will), get ready to dish out some bucks for service and parts. I'll take my Buell as is, made is the USA, easy to work on and cheap on parts..... Thank you. |

I love Duc's (owned a 900SS bevel drive and a Cagiva), but went with Buell this time due to reliability and parts. I would never own a Ducati as a primary, daily driver bike - been there, done that. |

I thought the new pricing had come from Ducati. Since all the old part numbers have been "superseded" everything has doubled in price... |

You guys sure whine a lot. My wife's '05 Moto Guzzi Breva needed a clutch cable. I called shops all over the country, and no one had one in stock. When my local dealer (50 miles away) got one in, it cost $48.00. And if you think good Buell dealers are scarce, try to find a good Moto Guzzi dealer. Oh, I think that the comparison is valid, as Buell and Guzzi sell about the same amount worldwide. (and they both use great pushrod engines) |

This just in.......H-D has bought Ducati and will be merging Buell and Duc together. Plans are to keep the Ducati name but to phase out the current Duc. engine and replace it with Buell American designed power-plants. Buell/Ducati will be out of H-D dealerships and will be available at participating Walmarts and Sams Clubs. The transition will take place in early spring 2007 . |

You know I think you have that backwards. Now we now where Buell is getting the water-cooled engine from. I just hope they don't put that coffee grinder clutch in it.
