here is my problem, took a low-side last night on my xb9r. After looking at it a while I see turn signals, chin fairing, mirrors, a skinned up header that needs replacing, a skinned up front rim that I am pretty sure is not bent and now for the bad part, the fram got skinned up a little below the frame pucks, I am pretty sure its ok but I know how insurance companies are with the xb line. I was going to make it into a track bike anyway, should I submit the claim or just eat the damage I had a clean record up to this point. I have progressive ins., how bad will this jack my rates, especially since I have 3 other bikes, opinions please |

Sorry for the mishap and I hope you got away unscathed! Looking though the list of damages, it would seem like you could source the replacement for under (or around) the deductible. I'm assuming your deductible is around $500 or so. The one part putting you over the top is probably the frame. Ebay can be a good source here to get it back in shape for a reasonable price. If it were me, I'd leave the insurance company out of it. Asbjorn |

No doubt. If this will be a track bike anyways, the insurance need not know. Keep your record clean and eat the repair cost. Take this opportunity to get those race parts for the track bike. |

I had a low side on my Yamaha GTS1000 that ran about $3600.00. I had Progressive, I repeat had as my renewal went up 1,100.00 on my XB9S, none of the other bikes got increased. After a lame excuse by Progressive I promptly switched to GEICO and my insurance ended up being cheaper than progressive before the accident. If you think it is going to up go alot then eat it. I had a wreck on my XB9S with GEICO they paid out about 3,200.00 on it and my insurance hardly went up at all. |

Glad you made it through safe bro. Your bike doesn't sound like it's too bad either. I'd take a hard look at making repairs myself out of pocket on that one. It would be a shame to get your insurance jacked up over relatively minor damage. As long as you think your frame's OK, I'd just watch ebay for parts and maybe get with Al @ American Sport Bike for a can of frame paint. Sorry to hear what happened. |
