I have a set of Marchesini 5 spoke cast wheels--I believe they are from a Ducati, rear is not the SSSA.Anyone with a 900SS,900 monster,or748/996,I need some measurements to be sure.Rotor bolt spacing and axle size on front, and axle size and sprocket bolt spacing on rear.

Jim, I have a 916 Marchesini rear in magnesium. It's hung up in the workshop and if I get a chance later I'll try to get the measurements from it if I can reach up that high! Because it's magnesium - when it was last repainted gold, and the wrong prep / paint went into it, it has reacted so requires a repaint. If you need it it's yours. Rocket |

Sean,I got these for a song ,was looking for a rear for my S-2,have a front already but got a 16.5 rear when I bought those wheels. So these are going up for sale--or trade for a 17" rear 5 spoke Marchesini to fit my S-2. Thanks for the offer though. |

Jim, the mag Marchesini I have is a 17in rear 5 spoke that fits 748 / 916 I'd be inclined to believe those Marchesini wheels you have are not from a Ducati. I've never heard of a Ducati 16.5in wheel and I can't imagine anyone trying to improve upon the handling of a race Ducati by fitting 16.5in wheels. If they did I'm pretty certain they'd be magnesium anyway. My Ducati tome tells me some 851 Strada's had 16in wheels, but that and 17in wheels are as close as it gets. This is a long shot. Marchesini made 16.5in cast wheels that looked similar to the one in your pic for GSXR600's. Maybe that's what you have? Rocket |

16.5 is common on superbike spec race bikes to take advantage of the 16.5 inch racing slicks. |

Sean, you are mixing the wheels I am talking about up---the rear from pair bought for Buell was a 16.5--and impossible to find a non-race tire for.I donated it Vallejo for their former racebike. The Duc ones are 17--they lasted all of 2 hours on eBay.Heading to Aus. And saw this wheel while cruising eBay just now,it's a 16.5 wheel for the rear of a 916,Sean. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-Marchesini-Ducati-Rear-Wheel-5-Spoke-Corse-916-Gold_W0QQitemZ280034574057QQihZ018QQcategoryZ35624QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (Message edited by firemanjim on November 05, 2006) |
