Well, duck season starts next week. It's gonna be hard to find time to ride. Are there many hunters here? Gregg |

The Big Kid is an avid hunter of everything that moves. He is out deer hunting(archery) as I type. Early goose season, and ducks are around the corner. Then he deer hunts all summer long with one of my friends at an airport, at night, with spot lights(deer management you know!) Well its not really deer hunting, its called keeping the air traffic safer! I was out coyote hunting with him two weeks ago by the duck ponds, just as it was getting dark the ducks and geese started flying in, it was quite a site! I like partridge, woodcock and woodchuck hunting. A couple of years ago, I was out duck hunting with the crew(Big Kid, Little Kid, Gun Son and his wife) it was so foggy you could hear the ducks flying over but you couldn't see them, it still was way cool. |

I went deer hunting yesterday. I am an avid(ok, fanatical) bow hunter. |

Swampy - It must be bow season over there. Unfortunately, it rained most of the weekend. I did not get to ride the bike much. I did get to clean it though. Duck season starts this weekend and deer season begins shortly after. I usually don't do anything but hunt this time of year. It will be interesting to see if I will still ride the bike now. Happy hunting everyone! Gregg |

Road thing - Thanks for the link. Those are some purdy shotguns. Now I'm thinking that I need a carbon fiber stock on the Mossberg. Maybe even make a Pilot Power recoil pad and some header wrap for the barrel? |

Sorry, I just wanted to say PURDY! Remington does make some purdy guns though. I have an 1100 special field that I'm rather proud of. |

The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the mountains of Alaska for some sight-seeing. He was cruising along in the Pope mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods. A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a "Save the Whales" hat, and a "To Hell with Bush" T-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically, thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10 foot grizzly. As the Pope watched horrified, a group of Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a .44 magnum into the bear's chest... The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp. Then using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the another tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat. As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing for your brave actions!" he told them. "I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic Environmental activists but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true." As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies "Who was that guy?" "It was the Pope," another replied. "He's in direct contact with heaven and has access to all wisdom." "Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all wisdom but he sure doesn't know anything about bear hunting! By the way, how is the bait holding up? |

I'm not a hunter any more, just don't have it in my heart to pull the trigger. Sunday morning, 7:15AM, I get up and glance out the bathroom window and see this guy cleaning up the black oil sunflower seeds from around the bird feeder area:
He is a little over knee high on all fours. I opened the basement door and got one photo before he took off. Jack |

This morning I was riding into work, it was foggy, the road was wet As I rode past a yard about a mile from home a frikin' deer ran out infront of me, being it 0'dark thirty, and me being deer paranoid to begin with, I was only going 40 mph till I got to the highway. I still had it going a little out of line while braking but recovered. That was as close to a deer as I ever want to get on a motorcycle. The pucker factor was tremendous! It took me many miles before the cramping went away. It was probably revenge as I had eaten fresh venison the night before. |

OMG the deer and turkeys are always on the roads near me. It's nice to see them, but not on a bike. I missed a great photo op the other day. There were about 25 turkeys feeding around my bike. Too bad I didn't have my camera handy. I'm still thinking of what the caption would be! Gregg |
