When the dealer completes your scheduled maintenance did he give you a list of things that the tech checked????????? I got that and a one line maintenance ticket that said 1,000 mile maintenance completed and a bill for $400 bucks. A line by line check off with the techs signature would be appropriate especially for what I paid for the service.......I hate to think I paid $400 for an oil change. So how do I know they even completed the service right???????? |

You paid $400!!! Last Tuesday I had my 1000 mile service and I paid less than that. They gave me a list of what was replaced and checked... |

I paid $0.00 for my 1000 mile service check. It was included with purchase, as well as one hour dyno time. |

Robbed. I payed $35 for parts and nothing for service. They even threw in installing my race ecm. I was expecting a bill around $150. That service takes around 2 hours to do. I would of threw the biggest fit and maybe even a couple of punches if that would of been me. I would still try to get refunded for some of that because that is outrageous. |

If you did not ask about the cost of the service before having it performed then complaining/throwing a fit is not allowed. When was the last time you purchased something without asking what it cost first? Or looked at the price tag? It's just not a good idea. |

Well then you probally get taken advantage of quite a bit 99buellx1 because thats highway robbery. The shops usually post how much the they charge for labor and it not $175 per hour and common sense will tell you how long it will take to get serviced. In the manual for the 1000 mile service, nothing on there is difficult and time consuming so there is a argument there. You have to be able to show where all that money went on the service bill so 'lost in ohio' do what you want but I would be calling there and have them justify that amount. |

Read my post again, you obviously missed something. I never said that it wasnt a rediculious amount of money, and I never said that I would pay it. What I said is there is no excuse or whining about a bill if the costs were not discussed prior. |

Okay, here's what happened to me when I took my bike for the 1000 mile service. I called the week before and made an appointment for the service and I was quoted $170 on the phone. When I got there I was told the price was $210, which I agreed because behind the service desk there was a sign with the prices posted. Some of the Harleys were $170, while all Buells plus some Harley models were $210. This price seemed reasonable - they have to make money to offer good service (my opinion). I arrived around 9am and I had the bike in my hand around 2pm. Here's what I was billed for: 1) O-ring, drain plug - 2 2) Gasket, clutch cover - 1 3) spark plugs - 2 4) gasket, inspection cover - 1 5) oil filter - 1 6) synthetic oil - 4 7) service discount - 1 8) labor - 2.5 Grand Total: $210 + Tax Final Results: Bike IS a different bike! Runs much better, clutch/throtle adjusted perfectly, oil levels were accurate (I checked as soon as possible), tire pressure was correct. Satisfaction: 9/10 - 2 minor issues that I found with the bike. Not worth mentioning. Recommended?: Yes, I'll take it back there again for service, but with some requests next time. |

I had mine done a few weeks back for the 1000 miles service. It cost me 260 for parts and labor. But I knew that what they charged. I also wish they had included a check off list, or I had brought my owners manual as their is a spot for a tech to sign off on the thousand mile service. They did replace the gaskets for the clutch cover and the inspection cover, so that leads me to beleive they adjusted the primary chain. They also broke my little rubber strap that holds the diagnostic rubber plug to the bike when its removed which kinda sucks, but I guess that me they had the diagnositc tool hooked up and reset the TPS. I was wondering Bueaddicted why they changed your spark plugs? Mine says to change them at the 10000 mile service. regardless, I will be doing all the remaining service and only bring in the bike if I cant get the tools to do a TPS reset or a steering head bearing check. But I like tools and would rather have them then need them in a pinch. |

Patrick, I have no idea why they changed the spark plugs. Maybe because I had told them that the bike kept stalling? I also thought they were changed at 10000 mile service, but I have to thank them for it. If I had known they were going to change them I would have requested an upgrade to the spark plugs. As for the diagnostic rubber plug, mine was intact, except that they forgot to put it back together. I was going home at around 80mph when I noticed something flapping in the "breeze". Scared me as I thought something was coming off, but I pulled off right away and relaxed once I saw what the problem was. |
