I asked this on the sponsor board but what kind of performance gain can you expect for a 1250cc Bolt-On kit for an XB12? Thanks. |

Hey! How come my vintage Millenium cylinders don't look that pretty? Those are works of art! Do you have a larger version (higher res) of that photo? Kandie, They sell kits that will fit your FXR too. Ruh roh! Go big bore baybee! |

Blake - Tried to load the larger version but couldn't get it to take. Too big according to the site Kandie - Just ignore Dave and give me a call girl! We'll git ya dialed in! XB Questions - The best way to describe it is that the bore size alone is worth roughly a 4% increase in overall power. Now that can even understate it as the bigger bore unshrouds the valve area and allows the head to physically work better resulting in more power. Especially in the low lift numbers where the bore wall hinders the presentation of the short side radius flow. The cylinder wall itself has a substantially lower drag coefficient as well reducing parasitic loss from the ring pack. All these play a factor along with the increases staying with you much longer due to the nature of the cylinder construction, alloy composite and durability of the silicon carbide plating. In other words, what you gain stays with you longer because the cylinder doesn't degrade over time near to the degree as the OEM piece. Hope this answers your question! Rocket - Call me when you need'm mate! Thanks to all! |

Rum Runner - You bet. We have an 883-1250cc conversion that allows you to retain your 883 heads if you choose. |

I agree with Mr. Phat - being as the kit is now so inexpensive I would most certainly encourage you to upgrade the cylinder heads. Even if you just used late model OEM 1200cc castings. Thanks for your interest. We are really pleased at the response and it is really cool to see the Blast kits flying off the shelves again. EZ? Any speculation other than price point? They look really good now, really - I'm very happy with mine with approaching 20,000 miles, it is the old style - matches the case metal cover perfectly, however, your new stuff looks awesome - the finish has really taken a step up! LOL - come rebuild time I'm still thinking about 809cc - and shipping a bike to you - so don't go anywhere!;0) GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Brian, I had my damaged AAC's repaired here in the UK. I have to say, they did a pretty impressive job. I thought they were scrap after the rod smashed the rear cylinder skirt area. If they fail at some point, which is always a little worry in the back of my mind, you'll be getting a call, providing I don't push the Buell over a cliff first if it ever goes bang again! Thanks Brine Rocket |
