As Jackbequick posted, a 4 1/8" bar with the ends rounded works well to lock the primary. I used some aluminum stock I bought at Home D.

Check the stator wires where they go under the metal plate that protects them, look for sharp edges that cut through the insulation, clean the area with brake clean and gob up the wires under the plate with silicone to keep it from vibrating under the plate.

Once again,Bad Web comes thru.I have 1 1/8,but will have to buy a 1 3/16.I have a rule that I never go over the Oregon inlet bridge without bringing a tool back.

A 30mm socket will work for the 1-3/16" one, look for a six point deep hex in the "special sockets" section at Car Quest or Napa. That is used on the front wheel drive on GM cars - it fits perfect and the extra length helps.

Did you know that the clutch nut has a LEFT HAND THREAD?
