Vallejo police are looking for a vehicle that fled after striking a motorcyclist Thursday on Tennessee Street.
Witnesses said a woman driving a sport utility vehicle turned left on a red light, hitting the blue Buell motorcycle in the intersection of Tennessee and Mariposa streets around 4:30 p.m., Officer Kyle Wylie said. Some witnesses told police the woman pulled over briefly before fleeing, while others say she did not stop.

The motorcyclist, David B. Richards, 39, of Vallejo, was hurt, but the extent of his injuries were not immediately known. He was flown to a regional medical center for treatment.

Witness descriptions of the driver and vehicle varied too much to be clear, Wylie said, but the vehicle must have sustained damage to its right front end. Police ask anyone with information about the SUV to call them at 648-4321 or Solano Crime Stoppers at 644-STOP.
