I bought a used XB9S from Daves that came with only one key. I don't have the key code. Can a Hardware Store cut motorcycle keys or am I just out of luck? Thanks!! |

you can just call dave up and have him order you some, all he needs is your vin# to find out the key code. you need the right key blank to have it cut into, and a hardware store isnt going to have it as far as i've ever found. |

If you bought it from Dave, he should have ur VIN, he should be able to get you spares. He said something about them before, try a search for spare key in the sponsor section. OOps, took too long, no rice beat me.LOL (Message edited by jerzydevil on September 19, 2006) |

Thanks everyone! I want a spare and Rocco wants another one too. Guess you can't have too many keys! What's the $$ ? We'll call with the CC info if you don't have one on file. Rocco said you may have his, but he did close an account and it may be that one. Just PM us. |

I bought some blanks on ebay, and had the local hardware store cut it. They hadn't done a key like that before and stated beforehand that they might turn it into scrap. In the end the key works fine. I had to have them touch it up a bit because at first it would turn, but then I pulled the key out and tried the other side and it wouldn't. |

I work with a guy who is a locksmith on the side and he told me if I ever needed some cut he would only charge me $5 a key. Luckily I haven't needed to yet. |

Yes. After 2 days of pulling out what little amount of hair I have left, found it in a pair of shorts that went through the wash. So I'm good. Plus I have a nice clean key. |

Daves "so, you pay 3.85 for the key 3.85 for shipping 5.00 to have it cut Total of 12.70" the Buell key is like 12.00, already cut Postage, about 2.00 for me to send them to you. Dave, don't get me wrong. I tell everyone to buy everything from you, but the question was whether or not a key could be cut or not. I paid 8 dollars for 2 blanks including shipping, and then paid 50 cents to have one cut, and I still have one blank. Although to ensure you get the proper key and get what you want I would recommend buying from Daves. It is my fault that until now I didn't now that it was possible to order a key. Peace |

Man, that's a good deal, getting them cut for .50 I think the keys are overpriced. They should be about 12.00 for the pair. |

It's backwoods Arkansas here, sometimes you can find a good deal. |
