Philistines...you probably don't suck boiled crawfish heads, either. How do you feel about chitterlings? Okra is good food! rt

Then, come the day of the event... you should have no problems at all winning! - Who cares after all that practice - if you're lucky! Fried Okra's not bad at all and in Gumbo it just kinda gets mixed up with all the other crap. Just 'nother Yankee's opinion. |

I think after all of that practice, I'd just pass on the event and stay home practicing some more. Of course, that's just me... |

If your girl has teeth, tell her to be carefull she doesn't get the string caught in them. As for the fork thing, I haven't seen that development yet but I haven't been to a spectacle like that in many years. Those big tuff harley guys frieghten me. |

Yall dont like okra? Well I guess yall might not like other things I (and other southerners) consume. Pigs Feet Pickled eggs Grits Pig ears Chitterlings Tripe Cracklins Mountain oysters Sweet bread (has nothing to do with bread, comes from a pig) Brains & eggs Squirrels, Groundhogs, Rabbits etc. Pawn hoss Hog jowls Ox tails Neck bones Collard/Mustard/Turnip Greens I could go on but this list is making me hungry! Let me know if yall want me to explain any of these. |

Pawn hass aka scrapple A savory mush in which cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour, are simmered with pork scraps and trimmings, then formed into a loaf. Small scraps of meat left over from butchering, too small to be used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Typically cut into thin (quarter-inch-thick) slices, pan-fried in butter or oil until the outsides form a crust, and served at breakfast, as an accompaniment to eggs. It is eaten plain or with ketchup, maple syrup, dark corn syrup, or apple butter. Pawn Hass/Scrapple is arguably the first pork food invented in America. The first recipes were created by Dutch colonists who settled near Philadelphia and Chester County, Pennsylvania in the 17th and 18th centuries. Others have posited that scrapple originated in Germany. Strongly associated with Philadelphia and neighboring eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. Among the Pennsylvania Dutch and in Appalachia, scrapple is known as pawn haas or pon haus. It can be found in most supermarkets throughout this region in both fresh and frozen refrigerated cases. It can sometimes be found in cities farther from this area — even as far away as Los Angeles — in frozen form. |

It is sad to say, but this thread has ended up in left field, in true badweb style. The thread starter (myself) opened discussion on a valid buell/motorcycle topic. Now the same person has just finished telling the little known history of Pawn Hass, after a spirited rant on Okra. Only on BADWEB! (Message edited by barker on September 21, 2006) |

It is sad to say, but this thread has ended up in left field, in true badweb style. Why so sad? I see an ample supply of weenie-biting, as well as some other informative and entertaining posts. And besides, it all keeps the thread alive until you are able to report on your performance and get back into the lime light. Good luck. Pictures if you can. |

Another BADWEB success story,,,,, WE WON!!!!!! Here are the details: 2 practice runs, both of which we took the whole dog and I put my foot down the first run. Only buell competing maybe 20+ bikes I could not count them all it was dark. Only sportbike team. The hotdog was a whopper! It was 1 and 3/4 inches wide! with lots of mustard! Winning bite was 5 inches! I wore full gear! Me lady had a helmet and glasses. Only one other person had a helmet on. We took home the grand prize $250. Lets just say we practiced. Pictures and possible video to come the photographer will be emailing it to me. Ill post them as soon as I get them. I saw a few harley riders almost drop/wrek there bike! Thanx Yall (Message edited by barker on September 22, 2006) |
