Technicians at Tilley Harley Davidson,Buell recently uncrated the engine and various sheet metal parts that once comprised the fabled "Lucifer's Hammer",the XR based race bike that Gene Church rode to three consecutive road-racing Championship's in the late 80's. Rumor has it that the bike is being re-assembled at the dealership. This small piece found in the pages of Iron Works magazine |

The piece of body work in the pic says Lucifers Hammer,it doesn't show the Roman numeral 2 on it. |

Only going by what Dave wrote in his article on his site. Hell I don't know I do know I'm happy to hear the bike's not just going to rot. Has anyone talked to Gene? He lives near by Tilley's. I wonder if he had anything to do with the project? Tilley's is only a few hours from here, may just have to go up that way once they're finished. |

In the early 80's It was Jay Springsteen that won Daytona with it. I wonder if it was Lucifer's Hammer 1 then. In the late 80's it was handed to Gene Church....then the Lucifer's Hammer 2 ?? After that Zampach. The bike really had a history and a career |
