What glass house would that be Mr. Scott, the one of fantastic hype but not a single appearance in a race anywhere ever, or the glass house of stating that you would be entering MotoGP but have not and likely will not ever, anywhere? I'm kinda slow on the uptake, so you certainly won't mind clarifying your comment, will you? |

Interesting... ..from one of Erik Buell's videos on the Buell website referring to the frame rigidity part of the "Trilogy of Tech".. "making the wheels stay in line with each other, so when your tossing the bike around you don't want the bike to flex at all, you don't want the wheels to twist" ..and from the Motoczysz website, referring to aftermarket components on an otherwise stock bike (the Honda 600 in the picture above) "aftermarket suspension components created by MotoCzysz introduce tunable lateral flex... ...resulting in improved corner entry and increased mid corner traction" The way I see it the "tunable" part makes it better, but what do you guys think, keep the wheels in line or let them get out of line every once in a while? |

you always want the wheels in line -- tunable suspension pieces allowing lateral flex can help with bumps encountered while leaned over, though two different things -- related, but not the same |

If they don't podium their first year racing they are a failure |

The new R1 has the top engine mounts at the rear of the head, to allow more frame in front of them for lateral flex. My guess is that stems from their work on the chatter issues Val and Colin were dealing with. When you are cranked over, the bumps still act with a force vector straight up, which the suspension can't address. Much of the flex in the forks is gone now, so if the frame can soak some of it up it will not push the tire off of the ground with as much force. |
