Maybe this is old news, but I thought it interesting. The new issue of Cycle World has a short article about the new Victory motorcycles. At the end of the article, they explain how Victory bought 25% of KTM last year. The Victory PR guy is not ruling out a Victory sportbike, using an engine jointly developed with KTM. Although the Victory cruisers are a little over the top style-wise, I'm glad to (possibly) see another American sportbike. Bill |

KTM pulled out of the planned merger with Victory a few months ago. They still have the joint developement thing going, but I doubt that we are going to see anything very significant from it. Polaris/Victory was banking a great deal of it's future on this merger (and possibly other mergers), and now their future may be in jeopardy too. (Message edited by eboos on September 05, 2006) |

I am not trying to split hairs about KTM, but the the company did not pull out of the merger. I believe 40% of KTM is owned by a German company, and that company will not sell their stock to Victory. I don't think the deal is dead, just much more complicated and drawn out. I |

"You calling that a fake?" Yes, I'm calling it a fake, but more importantly I'm praying that it is a fake. Good Lord Almighty that creation is hideous. Any more abominations like that and Adobe may revoke your privileges. Oh, and GO Buell!! (Message edited by JScott on September 05, 2006) |

Anyone see the "sportbike" that Jesse Rooke made using the KTM motor?
I prefer Roland Sands;
Just watched that Biker Buildoff last night. Rooke's bike is fast, but not a sportbike. |

Roland should slap a Revolution motor in there and call it a day. Beautiful bike. Rooke's style of bikes look like Schwinns with fat rear tires to me. |

Roland Sands lost me when he said he was trying to show people something different and that has never been done before. A sport bike with a H-D engine. Maybe he needs to get out more. Jack |

Wasn't it that buildoff when Roland was wheelieing a blast around the parking lot and then ghost rides it ? |

I think the above victory bike is kind of cool. I like that they are thinking about using a motor that is not a vtwin. some other model thinking using their motors from the snowmobiles, etc. There was a photo once of a victory v twin in a buell like type bike, being tested. rex |

I once took a demo ride on a victory think it was the V92SC, short lived attempt at a hot-rod sportster type of bike it had very good front forks, extra-ordinary (Brembo) front brakes, smooth, very even linear power, with absolutely perfect throttle response. vibration was completely absent at the handlebars, and very slightly noticeable at the pegs. transmission had a few extra neutrals at high RPM's ( right when they were needed least.) worst part about it besides weighing almost 600 pounds and being a bit underpowered was attempting to turn it around, dragging footpegs, exhaust parts, and some other spark-generating parts, even at parking lot speeds stuff was touching down on both sides. I believe the victory engine is the TALLEST two cylinder motor i have ever seen used in a moving vehicle. |
