Ramon, sounds like a bit of good news to me.
I'm optimistic.
Unsolicited advise I know...but...please keep your cool.
And, when you do get her home safe and sound, don't be too hard on her, she is just a kid after all.
Enough from me I know.

Possible good news:

A fellow Bueller drove by a house we suspected they may have gone to and possibly saw his car (he didn't want to approach the house but his description sounded hopeful). We're contacting the police to drive by and check it out. Will keep you posted...

Ras-

Legally there should be no repercussions or problems with posting the info you posted. You posted her name, his name, vehicle description and license plate. This is all info that would normally be released in a missing person case or amber alert and it is also public record.

Personal info would be say, social security numbers, date of birth, driver's license numbers or a criminal history. Nothing like that has been posted in this forum and you have every right to broadcast your fears about your daughter's welfare. Don't let anyone else tell you different...

ummmm... spreadem: while you're counselling on the dubious legality of posting someone's license plate info,
would you explain on what authority you ran the subject's tag in the NCIC database without official cause?
Did you OBSERVE that tag on the job?
That IS a federal crime in 21st century America, you realize?
I sincerely hope (as you seem like a good guy) you delete that post, fast.
Please, everyone: slow down, take a deep breath and THINK

That said, there is some truth to what Tramp is saying. Trust me, what you say and post, including pictures, on Badweb can and will be used against you in court.
Been there.

Ras,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. You and your family are going through so much right now, and I know that the online Buell community is sympathizing for your loss. I am praying for you and your daughter that she is found and safe even though she is with such an evil and hateful man. I hope that he gets what he deserves from the hands of several of the people on this board, or the police, whoever gets to him first.

Fullpower, shut your mouth. If you don't have anything nice to say to this man and his family, then you should not be talking at all, and I mean AT ALL. As someone who has spent time in almost the same situation twice, once with my father and once with my brother, which ended in my brothers almost dying and my father dying. I can honestly say that you have no clue what you are talking about. You have been insensitive and completely thoughtless as to what they are going through. You should be ashamed of yourself posting such things on here, and I hope that you will be refraining from such comments in the future.

Again, Ras and Buella, there's not much I can do here, but my prayers and the prayers of my family will be uplifted every day until your daughter returns home safely. God bless you.
-R.

Captpete, I apologize for the rather uncouth remark previously. Indeed, I will rephrase it to, I hope that he gets what he deserves through the judicial system. Not necessarily a lynching from the hands of angry citizens. I volunteer at a battered womens shelter and I've seen what women in abusive relationships go through. It's not pretty and it's heart breaking to watch someone go through it. Abusers make me livid and my comment was made out of anger towards everyone who thinks it is okay to hit women. I will say though that it was inappropriate. I wanted to clarify that I don't wish harm on him, but I certainly hope that he does get what he deserves through judcial process.

Tramp-

I'm a federal law enforcement officer, as much as I truly appreciate your concern, I don't need to be educated about what is or is not a crime. I'm fully qualified and certified to use the FBI's systems and am also fully aware of the legal ramifications of misusing these tools.

Although I can understand your rationale, the justification that I used in pulling up the missing juvenile record, and the way I did it, WAS authorized. As far as whether license plates are public record or not, it would be an interesting discussion, but also one not appropriate for this thread. Ras is scared for his daughter, and he deserves to have a clean thread without anyone else adding unwanted bull*hit or second-guessing his parental concerns.

You guys aren't going to believe this (well maybe you will).

So we contacted our police dept. with a possible lead in WV. They tried to have the police in that jurisdiction go check it out but the said the house number didn't exist and refused to dispatch a patrol. There are like six houses on this street! We found the house using Mapquest for crying out loud!

They told us to go there ourselves and contact the local police department if we found them.

The lack of cooperation between police departments in neighboring states/jurisdictions is a bit alarming.

We went out there and found an old beater but it wasn't his.

It's OK, we are confident they will eventually be found.

I have no problem admitting I used my underground influences to run that plate.

I made the judgement that it was the right thing to do, and I'll do whatever I can to help. Whatever little that may be.

Naked pictures in the phone... man... that makes me really angry.

Yeah, I was pissed too. The last thing I wanted to see was this guy's pecker on my daughter's phone.

They apparently took pictures of each other.

Aside from everything, I am additionally concerned about the drug use. I'm not too freaked out about the weed part of it but I think they're doing coke and I know they drink. These two are particularly alarming because there's a history of addictive personality disorder/alcoholism in her genes and I personally know what coke/crack does to folks.

We were randomly drug testing her but slacked off because her tests would always come back negative, aaarrrghhh!!!!

The last communication they made that we have a solid record of was to a DC number 202 786 7317 right before he picked her up.

We checked out the Harper's Ferry area last night and plan of searching the parks and campgrounds there this Saturday. His house is minutes away and they used to hang out there often.

Anyone familiar with this area please contact me, especially if you can make the ride. I'm also recruiting people from the DC Sportbikes group. We can meet on either side of the bridge on rt. 340 and spread out from there. At the very least there are good roads around there.

Dtx: thanks for the compliment.

Everyone: my continued thanks and gratitude for your support and help - you too Tramp, I appreciate your concern.

Does your daughter know much about your bike? If a Bueller or two glide by "non-chalantly" will she get suspicious?

I think she'd recognize K's bike (yellow XB9SLR - S low with R tail) not sure about my bike - see profile(I could swap plastics to throw them off), especially if I put the saddle bags on it, but she would recognize my helmet (Buell High Octane). I may get a new one before the ride.

I believe they are relatively clueless about Buell and motorcycles in general. I'd drive around in our Liberty (there are hundreds like mine) - except I have a real cool Buell logo on the back window (which ruins trying to blend in)I may have to remove it and all other distinguishing decals.

Another option would be to rent a car for a day to do some recon as well.

Did you get my pm yesterday?

Is it possible he/she is monitoring this thread? Internet access is available free in any public library. Is your daughter aware that you post here a lot and possibly came online to see if you said anything about how devastated you are?

If I ran away to piss off my parents, there is nothing I'd be more curious about than what they are telling people...

Of course, if your daughter checks this board to see what you are saying, the boyfriend sees it to... Their potential respective reactions to everything that is said here should be taken into account.

I think you'd be a lot smarter and safer in a car, because you're going to be riding around on a bike, potentially angry and distressed.. NOT A GOOD COMBO..just my 2 cents...be safe please

Naustin,

Randie has had 0 internet access for over a year and Rob doesn't own a computer. It is amazing to me what little interest/lack of knowledge she has about the web and computers considering I work in IT and we've had at least one PC in our house since 1995.

Rob's friends however, I don't know and cannot comment because I do not know any of them.

Angelwild,

Thanks for the suggestion. The weird thing is that I am amazingly calm despite the circumstances. It would be difficult for me to predict how I would act If and when I find them. My plan is to let the police handle accosting them. The funny thing is that things rarely go as planned, don't they?
I will try to keep your concerns in mind.

Yeah I'll parrot what Angelwild said, rent or borrow a car.

I think personally I would be camping in front of whats-his-name's house during idle time. Chances are he may return there in the wee hours of the morning to get money, clothes, food, whatever. He may park a few blocks away and hike in.

That's exactly what I would do if I was hiding from you.

As to your calm demeanor, I think perhaps BadWeB is helping with that. You're able to bounce ideas off others and get different opinions in a short time, which is probably helping your mental state a lot. I'm sure it would be helping me.

Plus you have the warm fuzzy feeling that others have their eyes open, are emailing and faxing people, putting the word out.

Very good advice I'll have to take from Angelwild and Pwnzor.
I've thought about camping out at his house. I have to take a few trips out there to find out where the best place to sit would be. The house doesn't sit on a regular street like most neighborhoods. There's no sneaking up to it and there are several access points.

I wish I had some night vision equipment and good aerial photos (the Google earth imagery is not hi-res enough). If they are going to the house it's definitely at night.

Did I see this as an amber alert today?
If so why did it say she ran out of gas on the freeway when she went missing?
