I dropped off my Translucid Orange A/B cover and fly screen as well as a yellow fender and chin spoiler back in March. I'm friends with the painter and told him no hurry. After all, it was the end of winter, spring was just around the corner and he does a lot of custom paint work for the local custom bike shops. Plus, I have the original black set, solid red set and got the Cherry Bomb set from DaveS, just after they were released. I took my helmet, KBC Airborne (1st edition) to the painter, he took a picture and this is what he came up with. All I wanted was a look of the "riveted panels" being folded back like it got hit. Plans are to light up the inside with small white L.E.D. lights to make it glow. I will get a picture of the bike outside with all the plastics installed. One of this winter's projects is to paint the wheels, except for the polished hoops, Candy Apple Red to match the Cherry Bomb wheel look.

That looks so good. Could you ask the painter what he did to prep the Airbox Cover? It would be hard to scuff up the original when the work is so fine. Also, does it have a clear top-coat? It's going to look excellent once lit up. |

I do know it has a clear top coat. I didn't ask what he did to prep it, other than he said it was easier than what he thought it was going to be. I will call tomorrow and get an answer. The ICON 06, was his way of putting the shop name (and year), Icon Signs, on the bike and "blend" it in. It's on the left side and kind of hard to see when on the kick stand. |

Whoooaaa, Pwnzor "near" speechless, that's gotta be a "near" first, Thanks. Thad does some awesome work and doesn't belong in this small of a town. He could be in a big city making some serious $$$$, but he likes being with family and the laid back lifestyle. |

he likes being with family and the laid back lifestyle. There's something to be said for that! The big cities are not always what they're cracked up to be. Very cool paint job. The time and talent into a paint job like that is amazing. Can't wait to see the pictures of the bike all together! |

Ras, Napoleon AP-104 http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/Manufacturer-Parts~mfr~Napoleon.asp $28.76 ea Someone sent me link to them when I posted that I wanted them in the Parts Wanted section. I don't think this is where I got them, but they were about the same price range. Tq, the other side of the "fender brace" has "43 MM" on it. |

Toona, You gotta post a pic of your custom "lightning bolt" shift assembly rod. It's the details that count, and this bike has plenty of them! -Ras |

Another outstanding thread today! BadWeB is rocking and rolling overflowing with some outstanding positive contributions. I love it! Toona, Can you send me (badweatherbikers dot com at gmail dot com) the full size originals of you photos? I'm pretty sure I can retain the quality for screen display and get them upsized considerably for posting. |

Blake, the sun is shining outside now, so I'll get some better pictures (overcast this morning) and send them to badweatherbikers at gmail dot com. |

I'll gladly host them full size forever, no charge. Even if you don't want me to, send them anyway, I need that for wallpaper on at least one of my screens! That bodywork looks awesome on the bike. The Queensryche bikes are beautiful, don't get me wrong but I think yours is my new favorite. Never seen anything like it. |

Matt, drop me a PM with an address to send to. I'll send along the brighter pictures. I agree, the QR Bikes are cool, very coincidental that both our bikes hit the BadWeb the same day with the same idea of painting on the translucids. Now if I could just get that Cherry Bomb front fender! I have some more ideas I'm guessing Buell isn't releasing the front fender because it would get messed up from the inside/bottom with stone chips/marks and all. it would be a small price to pay..... Blake, feel free when you get the new pic's to replace as you see fit. I just used the MS picture editing sw to compress for websites. |
