Someone want to give me a hand? I am sending an email to Jet-Hot for a price quote and to get things in motion to possibly get my headers done, and was wondering what people have put as the "approx size" and "further description". Thanks in advance. |

Howdy! IF your header is in perfect condition, aside from discoloration, it might be much simpler to use Al's Jet Hot Header Swap Service at American SportBike. Use your APO AE for the delivery and subsequent exchange. If you used Al's service, your down time would be the few hours needed to do a header swap. Have Fun! |

Blah, I'd rather have it sent off and have it done myself. |

I used Al's service for my headers. Good stuff all around. |

Brine, when I got mine done, I simply told them the make and model of my bike, I did not send any dimensions. |

brine, i had mine armor coated which is the same thing as jet coated. it would have been about $140.00 for them to do it. but i know someone that works there and got it done for half that. there is a pic of them in my profile if you want to see them. i also just found out they dull over time so i polished them with some mothers billet polish and they shined right up again. i hope that helps some. |

Gary, (in person) do they appear shiny like as it were polished / chrome, or does it have a flatter color to it? Judging from the profile pic, I don't think it would look right with what I'm trying to do to my ride... ... anyone tried the colored header wrap? |

Brine, i think they look like polished alluminum that is very dull when they are at there shiniest. i am not sure but i think they can do it in other colors too. Pwnzor, thank you i just did a lot more to it around the engine. it is in the shop right now for the 10.000 mile service. i will post some new pic's up when i get it back. it is hard to tell from the pic's but the paint changes color from a dark green to a dark blue and all th shades in between of the two. it is really hard to get that in a pic. |

Hmm...I don't remember how much it was any more...somewhere in the $100 to $150 range? Considering I got the header from a Hal's racebike for like a hundred bucks, overall it worked out to be a great deal. I got the black coating, not the polished silver one that a lot of people like. Some pictures of my bike can be found in the following link: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/210743.html It took me probably 4-5 hours total downtime when I put the new header on, however, a lot of that time was not related to the header itself. I did rotate the engine rather thantry to worry it out of the space. I could probably do a straight up header swap in 2-3 hours. |
