I'm thinking of painting my new idler pulley to match the bike. Good idea.....Bad idea? Discuss.

try painting your bike to match the pulley, instead

as long as you mask her off properly so as to not paint the outer diameter or the bearing. I don't see any problem other than not getting total coverage on the part.

i painted mine and haven't had any problems. i have about 600 miles on it since it has been painted. every thing is working fine.

You're painting it white?
It'll look cool.
If you paint the inside black, it'll give it some needed contrast.
