While watching the local news at lunch today....A guy at work and I got in a discussion about Hurricane Katrina and why New Orleans isnt fixed. What sparked the discussion was a women yelling at the news reporter about why no one was fixing her house in New Orleans....the problem was she was in houston. HmMMMM makes a guy wonder. Just curious what your thoughts are? |

I think she was the same dumas that was yelling at the cameras when the government wasn't coming to rescue her fast enough when she failed to evacuate when she was told. Stupid is as stupid does. |

I must be a racist, because I believe that each of those people, with very few exceptions, were responsible for THEMSELVES. The government owes us exactly JACK. We have a nice place to live, it's expensive, but we have exactly zero bomb craters per capita. You know, you won't hear my family screaming about hurricanes. I was born in Saba, Netherlands Antilles. EVERY year, during the hurricanes, my uncles to this day must ride out the storms in their fishing boats. They use GPS to keep from hitting known obstacles because it's black as pitch in the storm even during the daytime, and they have to pull back to back 12 hour shifts taking turns steering the boats into the wind. Meanwhile, back on the island, if the wind shifts the wrong way it can tear the whole roof off the house or much worse, tear it all the way down. This is every year. For Christs' sake, these people rely on the rainwater brought by the hurricanes in order to live out the rest of the year. When I saw those people sitting on their rooftops like pathetic idiots I felt absolutely no sympathy for them. Sorry if that's not politically correct, but some people just live to take the government for granted. And then bitch and whine and sue when it doesn't rescue them from themselves. Hopefully, they are enjoying the Louis Vuitton handbags and lapdances they got at the strip clubs with their government issued "relief" atm cards. Sheeeesh! |

The government owes me for all the welfare I paid into that went to people not deserving of it. I understand a hand up but i'll be damned if I am giving one a hand out! |
