Yup ....The Bear Mt. inn is sold out.I wanted so bad to stay there, even at over $100 each per night. However,i did find a motel apartment with two bedrooms and three beds for $95./night which,we'll split three ways for about $33/night for a grand total each person of about $66. total.I just hope it isn't a shithole. It sounded good and is in "Cold Spring Ny" and within 10 minutes of Bear Mt. |

yep- no prob with regard to 'guiding' i have other things to do on saturday, however, fri eve and sunday are fine. i was joikng about hookers. hotel thayer is actually in west point mil. res., so as long as you're not on any gov. watchlists, you'll be fine. a 'hhok' is NY for a connection, ie when you get a speeding ticket in, say, the bronx, you ask if anyone you know has any 'hooks' in the PD in the 52, etc. i have friends family in the hospitaility biz hereabouts, so i have 'hooks'. i dropped the idea last week when it was announced that youze NEBOs have rooms at the inn, so to speak. now that you seem to be relegated to the manger, i'll make a coupla calls. johnnylunchbox would be agreat guy to discuss cold spring with. lemme discuss a couple b&bs hereabouts, and see who has availability at this point. |

So.....got any other "hooks"? |

I'm going to have to play it by ear. I really want to go but I don't know how this week is going to turn out for me. Could someone give me an idea of times and places where I could meet up with the crew on Saturday? |

here's a starter idea- sounds like johhnylunchbox and i, for starters, at least...can meet you derelicts friday night... as to 'nightlife', here's another plan: hop on a train saturday night (or just ride it- it's fun, but that eliminates drinking) to the city, and hit some world-class establishments! anyway- not at all far from bear mountain (along 218 and the scenic hudson) is 'painters' tavern' in cornhol...er cornwall, ny, near saint's digs. that could be a swell rendezvous, and it takes you along nice roads. if some inns near me pan out (i'll know very shortly), you can hit some fun places hereabouts. jlb likely knows some fun spots on his side o' the crick, as well. as to sat. am meet-up: the summit of bear mtn (perkins drive) is always a good spot... From where they are staying, the town cold spring is a hop, skip, and a lurch away. Lots of restaurants, several bars, and general all around good time happy happy. Tramp's side o' the river is just a short blast down 9D to the B.M. bridge. (Although from their location I'd recommend going down 9 to the Annsville circle and picking up 6 West to the bridge. |

geez- can't believ i neglected to mention the beautiful places on the waterfront.. that's an area that gets better every year- nice piece in friday's paper about some restaurants there. if gulley's and torches are still floating (tha's veritable in gulleys' case), the nebo crew will have a great time, there. |
