He said he was not a hero, but he certainly was a hero. He was not expected or duty bound to help as he did. He put himself in danger to help people he didn't know. True, there were many, many heroes that day. He was one of them. My hometown, Pittsburgh, had an interesting connection to his events. He couldn't get through to N.Y. 911. He called his Aunt here. She called Allegheny County 911 with the information he gave her. They couldn't get to N.Y. by phone, but they sent an official FAX with enough information for them to send the appropriate help to the right spot. |
