TWO magazine just did a fairly light-hearted bikes vs cars comparo and the car won ! The fastest (road) car was a $1.24 million Bugatti Veyron http://www.cnn.com/2005/AUTOS/funonwheels/09/16/bugatti_veyron/ which did 0-100-0 in just under 10 seconds, and the fastest road bike was a GSX-R1000K6 which ran just over 10 seconds. The writers said the car's acceleration was 'like being fired out of a cannon'. These pair were way ahead of the rest of the field, which sadly (or luckily, depending on your POV) didn't include a Buell. |

cars will alaways win those contests, as they will skid pad compititions -- bikes are traction-limited with their cmall contact patches -- that Bug is really nice, innit? I'd like one for the weekend, please (not sure my license could stand more than that ;-} ) |

My wife said she wanted something that would go from 0 to 150 in a few seconds..... ....... I bought her some weighing scales. |

For testing purposes like the 0-100-0. Couldn;t the bike just be equipped with larger tires? Or an extended swingarm? |

that may help, but that pesky contact patch trouble won't go away completely, I'm thinkin mebbe a top fuel bike with a chute |
