So I head off to pick up my wheel from Quaid HD as they do not have the tool to remove the wheel bearings from my Buell. I hit Skip Fordyce in Riverside and get the same story I got from Quaid. They have the tool but for some reason my bike comes up as "Not Eligiable" for the wheel bearing upgrade/recall. I could not get the dealer to look up BWB and find the post regarding how my bike is very eligiable. They then said they would install the bearing I provided for $95.00!! Even Quaid only wanted $37.00 if they were not missing their tool. Rather than sit there and argue all day I decided to leave the wheel with instructions not to repair it until I got ahold of someone that could rpove my case. Ten minutes after I left the Service gal called and said that a HD regional warranty guy happened to be there and he said that they would get it handled through warranty if nessecary. My bike is way out of warranty........................ She then said the bad news was that I had the wrong bearings and that it would be seven to ten days for the recall kit to get in. I said I could have sworn the bearings I brought in were the right ones but oh well I would wait. She then called ten minutes later to say I had the right bearings and they would get it fixed by tomorrow. So a big thanks to whoever the regional warranty guy is that works the Riverside California area. He did me right. I have been pretty unhappy about the level of CS from HD and I have to say it was awesome to get taken care of by someone who works for HD. It is nice to have something positive to post regarding a CS issue. |
