With all due respect, welcome to the internet. If you have issue with my posting, please take it up with the moderators and they will handle it as they see fit. I am a guest here as we all are and I have to follow the rules and requests of the moderators and administrators. Appeal to them, if they ask me to stop in a private email then I must comply. Please note that I working on a new set of signature files that will be of much lower profile and less distracting to the eye. (no sig just for you) | ||

Thanks CJ, and Bomber, comments like that make Custodianship a little easier to deal with. Matt, thanks for understanding, and for your reply. As far as things like signature files, avatars, and the like. They've been tried before, and as y'all can tell they've been disabled for various reasons. Either way, I'll not ask Matt to stop, only bring it to his attention that it's not well received by some. It would be up to Blake to make the final word. | ||

I thinks it's the location, more than the animation. When you post several replies one one page, it even gets to me when there's more than one or two in the body of the page. The sponsor's ads are at the top and bottom of each page, out of the way. I think maybe a little moderation would do the trick. Either way, it's all good. You've seen the opposition, and have been polite about your view of things, couldn't ask for more. | ||

It just goes to show, that no matter how creative or expressive you are in life, there will always be individuals or even groups who wish to stifle or suppress it. And I support the right of those people or groups to express their displeasure with whatever they find undesirable. However, in real life, there is the concept of property, both physical and intellectual. There are some places in the country where anyone (average citizen not a LEO) can walk around with a gun on them in plain view. But you can't walk into the bank with that gun, because those are the rules. In this case, BadWeb is the bank, but my animations do not equal the proverbial gun. It's more akin to walking into the bank with a bumper sticker on my shirt. I do not expect that anyone in a position to do so will ask me to stop posting them. It is their perogative to do so, and if I am creating a disturbance or offending anyone personally then it is their mandate to make me stop. I am not, to the best of my knowledge, offending anyone personally. I make a conscious effort to condense the files to the smallest possible size, and furthermore, they are not visually large. They are my intellectual property, and they are hosted on my physical property at zero3nine. I test the graphics on a 66mhz Pentium with 32MB of RAM. They all run smoothly, so anyone describing the graphics as "slow" or "system hog" is someone who has issues on their own computer which are unrelated to me or my images. I create ALL of them on this old Pentium 3 in my garage. Most computers are more powerful than their owners realize because most people just use the software, not the machine itself. what is going ON here, anyway? somebody decided to ask pwnzor to cool it with the animation (not an outrageous request, by any means) I post that such a request really doesn't call for anonymous posting, and that said posting seems to constitute abuse of the anonymous feature, and suddenly I have all kinds of good and bad star votes next to my post.... are you serious? first, if i had a problem with pwnzor's animations, I'd simply post something like: "hey, pwnzor- could you please col it with the animation? i GET IT already. It's distracting the hell outta me, man. Thanks VERY much, T*R*A*M*P" it's likely that pwnzor would say "sure, what the hey. that's a legitimate request" or, maybe he'd say "Don't read my posts, then, mary!" either wya, there would be NO reason for me to make my request anonymously. what is THAT pussydom all about, anyway? aren't we all at least motorcylists, here, let alone adults? what adult is so afraid of pwnzor's possible responses, that they have to wear a little disguise? the kind of person who would never ask the neighbor to turn their music down, but, rather, would call the cops on 'em. unreal. not abig deal, just knock on your neighbor's door, and say, "hey, man- I gotta get up at 5...could ya take it down a few notches?" unreal what's happening here. what's next...a lawsuit? | ||

I also don't get the star-ratings associated with this thread...at all..... there is a little too much subterfuge happening around the site, thse days. how about if, instead of low-starring someone, we come forward and say, i respectfully disagree, and here's why. for the record, i'm not exercising my cowardly little stars on this thread, not even to repair the oddly low-starred post i have , 2nd on thread. can we all just keep it in the forefront, NOT use anonymous unless the situation absolutely requires it, and stop with the low star/high star sneakiness? be decent to one another | ||
