Anyone else here a Paul Harvey fan? I always look forward to his anecdotal quips and "The Rest of the Story" segments.

He just related a story in which a man who crashed into a speed limit sign on his motorcycle and died. The man's brother got onto his own motorcycle and sped toward the scene... crashed into slowed traffic and was killed as well.

2 brothers die in separate crashes on same road
Both on motorcycles, siblings are killed within two hours of each other
The Associated Press

Updated: 10:52 a.m. ET Aug 7, 2006

BUTLER, Pa. - Two brothers were killed in separate motorcycle accidents on the same stretch of road and within just two hours of each other. One was headed to the scene of his brother’s accident.

Steven Kerr, 37, of West Sunbury, was killed late Saturday when his motorcycle crashed into a speed limit sign on state Route 38, state police said.

Less than two hours later and only about 100 yards away, 29-year-old Jeremy Kerr was fatally injured when his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a vehicle stopped in traffic on Route 38, police said.

Jeremy Kerr of Hilliards was speeding as he headed for the scene of his brother’s accident, and traffic was stopped because emergency crews were still at the scene, officers said.

The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Butler is about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.

That's about as sad as it gets.

Don't ride when you're too angry or that upset. It clouds your judgment. 'nuf said.

That is crazy! I swear I have heard of a similar story about two family members that did the same thing, I don't remember if it was brothers on motorcycles though. But I know the 2nd died going to the accident scene.

I did a search and found the story I had heard, its a little different than the above story:

Although they weren't connected in any causal way, another set of accidents occurring in December 2005 claimed the life of siblings at about the same time and place. In the early morning hours of 7 December 2005, Andy McDowell, a sheriff's deputy in southern Kentucky's rural Warren County, spoke with his 23-year-old son Rory via a cell phone as the boy was driving his pickup truck. Shortly after that conversation Rory lost control of his vehicle coming around a curve, and the truck slammed into a tree, killing Rory. After Andy McDowell was taken to the site of his son's accident later that day, he was driven past the scene of another accident, and only later did he learn the nature of that second accident — about 15 minutes after Rory's crash, McDowell's other son, 21-year-old Cory, had also been killed when his 1984 Porsche veered off a road, spun out, hit a tree, and burst into flames.

As I remember hearing it on our local news, one of the brothers was riding a bike given to him by the widow of a guy killed earlier on that bike...and neither brother was wearing helmets.

On a brighter note................

I heard a PH story once that was funny.

Right about the time the first hand held video cameras were hitting the market a fellow was in Yellowstone National Park geting ready to play with his camera when a bear got very interested in his car. It was a Jaguar convertable. Well the bear started to climb in the car and rather than scare off the bear the man decided the film was going to be worth more than the car so he proceded to film the bear destroying the car.

And the rest of the story?

Seems he left the lens cap on the camera the entire time.....................

Now no more dead people stuff.

And his insurance denied payment because he intervened to keep Rangers from stopping the damage.
