I was supposed to have a lunch "get together" with a guy friend of mine. He recently moved far away from here and is in town this weekend. He called on Monday to say we should do lunch Saturday. No call no nothing. WHY DO GUYS DO THIS? I mean, I have a lot of guys ask me out, but they are usually not that interesting, smart or on my wavelength. I really like this person a lot. He is all of the above and more. What is so hard about calling and saying you can't make it? Anyone have the answer to this. OK, I thought it would be more of a rant than it is. Maybe the simple answer is he is more of an a$$hole than I thought? |

Guys aren't the only one that do it. A$$holes come in both sexes. It took me a long time to learn that actions speak louder than words. Sounds like his loss, anyway! Good luck, Bill |

I agree, it's probably his loss. Although this situation seems to fit my theory that I started to piece together 20 yrs ago starting high school. (WOW I'm getting old!!!) Girls/Women always seem to "want" A$$holes. Maybe the simple answer is he is more of an a$$hole than I thought? So you already thought he was Somewhat of an A Hole?! I'm not saying it's your fault. People want what they can't have, It's human nature. When women as a whole stop "wanting/dating" A-holes, guys will tend to stop being said "holes" P.S. Yeah what Court said....Smart....Lunch....Y-Town Oh. |

I learned soon after High School(yeah,23 years ago) that you just can't "blow" people off. It's about credibility and being stand up guys'. "Mean what you say"!!!! Don't "Say what you mean"!!! Reminds me of the time my good friend(now too) asked me to help move his refridgerator...He was relocating his family and only asked for me and my truck for transport...I casually and conciously blew it off.Shame on me,and after the confrontation i SWORE NEVER to do that to ANYONE AGAIN!! |

No it was not one of the guys in my profile picture, those guys are drunken hussies that made some good arm candy... And it is true that most women only want to be with a$$holes. But tell me, please, how do you rid yourself of this nasty little tendency. I have been with some very nice men who turn into a$$holes when they think they have got you, which means that they were only a$$holes in disguise. And, BTW, women who are a$$holes are known as bitche$. Also, what I don't understand... why do some men always want to be with weak and/or subservient women? I am assertive, intelligent, outspoken and adventurous. It seems like a lot of the average Harley riding guys are threatened by that. More positive male affirmation is always appreciated tho... |

"Also, what I don't understand... why do some men always want to be with weak and/or subservient women? I am assertive, intelligent, outspoken and adventurous. It seems like a lot of the average Harley riding guys are threatened by that." Those men do not want a woman. They just want another display piece that they could show off. Do not waste your time or energy on a guy how would take you for granted. |

you get what you look for, and you deserve what you accept..... self-esteem and self-sufficiency are the antidote to dealing with a guy that doesnt treat you the way you'd like to be treated. happy hunting! Hey Whatever, If he didn't make the effort to contact you, then he wasn't worth your time..and as someone said, and this is no offense intended.. "he's just not that into you"...so move on. I've found that we all fall into dating patterns...if you find that you are attracting similar men, whether at first or somewhere down the line they turn into jerks.. then you have found yourself "pattern dating". Take a good hard look at what attracts you to a man and you will find that certain something that is a pattern which needs to be broken. I found my negative pattern and broke it and found someone wonderful as a result. I once heard a saying "You attract what you are, not what you want"...and upon raw and somewhat painstaking inflection, I realized that it is true. Now that doesn't mean you're a jerk if you attract them, but the characteristics that might make him seem like a jerk to you, might be characteristics you, yourself possess, things which might not be attractive to the men you would really like to be with...so strive to be more like the person you'd really like to find and you will find them! When you're not looking, of course. Good luck! HUGS Angela |

Maybe he's just not that into you. By the way Char that's the title to a great book, the writer also wrote some episodes of Sex and the City, and he's getting his own show this fall, hilarious writer !! Read the book and don't accept ANY of that behavior from guys, you deserve better !! gosh. at least you don't make broad categorizations or anything.... She did say "some men" and it's true of "some men" !! you get what you look for, and you deserve what you accept..... Well said! Ditto !!! Nice guys finish last, and women chase after assholes. Well glitch, I've always heard that: Nice Guys Finish Last, Nice Girls Walk Home !! |
