Well rainy season is here in florida... When its coming down hard things back up and you have deep water in certain location on the street.. I've took the bike through some water right up to the top of my high boots..I leave the bike in a lower gear reving high and they are short stretches 10-15 feet. Its actually kinda fun.. Has anyone got their bike stuck in deep water... When I thought about more with the underslung exhaust maybe I'm pushing my luck... |

I've plowed through some deep stuff...not too smart with an air-cooled, long stroke engine, however. Rain's not so bad, as it's fragmented enough not to create cool pockets in the metals....but immersion's never a good idea with these engines. sounds like you avoided actual immersion,w hich is wise |

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Start worrying when it gets to the intake. My friend once filled his muffler up with water and started it up to blast water everywhere. We had to do this because.....um...terrorists or batman or something. |

I've ridden thru axle-deep water with various Harleys, though not on a Buell. Sounds amazingly like a Chris-Craft boat that is idling at a dock! You're right - it IS fun! The fun would come to an abrupt end in the event of hitting a hole or other obstacle hidden under the water, and dumping the bike, so be careful! Wet brakes can get wierd too. All that aside, it's still a hoot! AL |

I heard of those once! They go in the wheel, right? Somewhere near the center? |

And are supposed to be sealed bearings for just that reason. |

riding in a driving rain would be worse than going in say oil filter deep. too many air cooled thumpers that swim regulary, not a good idea with a force winder, in a Robin Williams voice can you say hydraulic? Gooooood |

I was about to say the same thing. They got the bike in water deeper than the oil filter (I forget the exact depth), stopped the motor, then started it back up again, with NO ISSUES. Basically as long as it's not above the air intake, it'll keep running (or start) with no problem! Gotta love these bikes. |

Regularly ride mine up to knee deep! River crossings here in sunny Wales! Never a problem unless you fall off half way! Then again that would be the KTM Enduro bike! Would'nt try it on my XB! |
