The results of the FX race. If you have an 8th place bike then finish 8th? Good show, Im guessing. Anyone race report/play-by-play? Started/qualifed outside top 10? Last practice/warm up time was 7th fastest? Race pace lap times? Im estatic, inside top 10 is great. GO BUELL AMERICAN MOTORCYCLES. |

Yes Oldog and I must say TIVO rules. The Buells didn't get a ton of camera time but McWilliams looked fast when he was in the shots. |

The FX race wasn't bad, no matter where they had the camera you could hear the Buell. Is that a different pipe than the one at Daytona? or is it just getting broken in? At Daytona during the ASRA weekend you couldn't hear the Buells over the IL4s. (The MotoGP race was great, especially around the middle laps!) |

The Buells were still the quietest bikes there.Of course the Moto GP bike are ungodly loud,no attempt at muffling at all. Jeremy looked very smooth out there especially on the new approach up to the corkscrew, passed alot of folks there. Sat night all of the Warr's team came up to the Love Shack for some hospitality.A really great time!! Other than it being hotter than Hades at the track,it was a fantastic weekend. |

The Buells were still the quietest bikes there. Someone should pay for that. What a disgrace Rocket |

Ohmygosh. . . Rocket and I agree on something! I confess that the VR1000's one redeeming quality was the sound as it came hurdling down the front straight at Daytona. Now THAT sounded like a Harley-Davidson. |

The firsy few times around, he was right with the leaders through the corkscrew(where I was) and looked like he was really hustling through there, but then he was kind of by himself through there for the rest of the race, and looked like he was on a Sunday ride. Still got 8th, so... YAY!!!!!! |

Even though they are quiet, they do sound good. I kind of like the stealth, especially after having my ears blown out by the GP bikes... |

Saw the American Le Mans Series at Miller Motorsports and could not believe how quiet the (winning) Audi diesels were. All you could hear was tire squeal and waste-gate farts. Maybe quiet is the new black? |

I'd love a pipe that quiet that would flow that kind of volume. They should make one as a slip-on for the XB9&12. I know the odds of that are nil with the end of the race pipes, but I'd love a pipe for my Firebolt that would give me the horsepower of the Jardine I have now without the noise. |

Anyone get a pic of the Laguna muffler up close from the paddock? No paint, and a mix of purply, golden blue colors on the outside??? Hmmmmm |

especially after having my ears blown out by the GP bikes... no kidding...is the Ducati still the loudest? last year at Motegi you could actually follow the Duc's around the track from the stands on volume alone |

The muffler sound is very tolerable. The old Beson (the noisy one that everybod loves so much) is impossible to run while in the garages without the others complaining. Besides, the Beson is not legal at any track with sound restrictions. Much better to have one pipe and not have to re-tune the motor every other month going from loud to quiet to loud to quiet. (IMHO) |

The myriad of sounds from the Moto-GP bikes is amazing. They have so many different firing/cylinder arrangements that make for completely different sounds from these bikes. Some are deep and roaring, some sound like a 2 stroke on steroids,a couple sounded like metal tearing. Quite the auditory treat. |

Buellzebub sez in response to question on how far 8th place was back from the leaders: "if i recall correctly, it was around 30 seconds back". I think it may have been farther back than thirty seconds, as the 12th place rider was lapped by Bostrum. I erased my Tivoed race so I can't go back and see exactly how far back 8th was but maybe someone else can. I checked on the AMA Official Lap Chart and they listed 999 as finishing 16th! It also showed that the 999 dropped out of 7th after the 10th lap. Why is this chart wrong...it is the official one? BTW, the AMA official points standings list 999 as finishing 8th with 23 points for the event. I also noted that Alpinstars and K-Tech have been added to the sponsors...great! Fastest race lap time: 1. Bostrum - 1:27.797 8. McWilliams - 1:30.591 It was interesting that first place finisher Bostrum also had the fastest lap time for the race. What was more interesting was that McWilliams finished the race in 8th place and ALSO had the 8th fastest lap time. jimidan |
