I bought some S2 fairing pouches off this person over two weeks ago and never received them. I can't get this person to answer my emails either. bartimus: I've had many dealings with phat J., all of them top-shelf. ...maybe you could hold off on reporting him, if only because he's a member of our community at large. He's always done right by me, I'll vouch for him on that level....assuming your ebay guy is the same guy as "phatJ" from various Buell boards.... (he in michigan or thereabouts? then it's likely him) | ||

If it isn't the same fella, it'd be one helluva coincidence. esp. being this phatj ebayer resides in michigan. looking at his profile, he hasn't had negative feedback for over a year, so maybe he deserves another week before you take action. phatj's always been straight-up with me. Bart, Go to "adavanced search" on eBay. You can get his home phone number there by selecting "get user infO". You will have to have the item number and his user ID. If he is ripping you. don't mess around. I have filed charges on people who have stiffed me and that normally gets them rolling. Well it's been two weeks since he said he shipped the pouches. He hasn't answered my emails since. I saw he had good feedback, but starting to think something is up since he won't return my emails. Tramp, if you do know him you may want to give him a ring and find out what the deal is. Don't rely on E-Bay or Pay Pal to protect you, I bought a tach from Lester Beal aka sportster 88303 on xlforum he also comes here as well. My ad was for a 2000 model tach, he stated he had the tach, it was bought new for his 2003 but he sold the bike before it was installed. I got it and it is for a 1998 or before HD. He admitted he bought it on E-bay and some one stiffed him and later stated he would refund my money. After he missed 2 dates he chose to refund he wanted me to send him back the tach first, then he would refund my money. I declined. At least I have the tach that appears to be new. The end result, I saved all his bogus fraudulent e-mails and Pay Pal/E Bay put a letter in his file. BFD Beware of Schmucks selling stuff even on enthusiast sites. I don't know what his username here is. Anyone need a pre 1999 tach?  | ||

Grumpy... I get my laughs at those scammers, but I have been hit hard by a few on eBay. They are the one that bid something up to say $100 above it's "worth" then ask for an invoice with your banking information so that they can send a wire transfer. The last one that did that I sent back his IP registration information from where his email came from, and told him that I had friends at Interpol. Needless to say that ended the conversation. I just can't imagine anyone being that gullable but apparently they make their living on these scams. Bartimus: get his info and then call him. Give him say 10 days then let him know you are filing fraud charges with his local PD. You can do that if the guy did rip you off. | ||
