Well I am out of here in an hour or so. Going to hit all the twisties on the way. Then back home on Thursday. My route looks to be about 1600 miles in two days of riding. Oh and I will have to do about 200 on the day in the middle. My arse is going to be sore (stock seat). Really nice of my XB to develop a fork seal leak last night. I am going to use the "tear-off" trick to try to clean the seal up a bit. Maybe I will get lucky and it will not seep much. This is the first bike I have owned that I have had to do the fork seals on before 40,000 miles..................... I have decided that my Buell is like my Pinzgauer. I just have to get used to almost always fixing something. sigh. |

Friends Don't Let Friends fly Piper Cubs I don’t want to hijack this thread, but that statement really surprises me. J3’s have to be about the most benign aircraft ever built. Slow, low stall speed, put ‘em down just about anywhere if a forced landing is required, or fly aerobatics in ‘em if you want. They aren’t very good at it, but they are stressed for it. If you are going to make a statement like, why not just put the period after ‘fly’ and make it non-misleading. Or better, just let us know you are a flyaphobe (?), which is ok. Just like riding Buells, flying ain’t for everybody. (But if you like the twisties, you ought to try it in three dimensions.) |

Well I made it to Placerville from L.A. in a days ride and put on 650 miles doing it. Rode 150 miles yesterday and am going to head home today at about 650 miles. I am so sore I cant believe it. The heat was a killer also. Over 105 forcasted today and I am not wanting to ride in that very much. Hence the killing time here on BWB......... Someday I am going to throw the stock seat out the window............ Fullpower, You would snivel also if your bike had a serious can not ride issue the day before you were supposed to leave. I was lucky to be able to knowk th edirt out with a tear off so I was able to make my ride. THis is not just a pleasure ride but also business and missing it would have been very bad. Diablo, I cheesed out on the full gear deal. I only wore my leather jacket, gloves, boots and jeans. I am going to order the Motoport all season gear this winter. Then I will be kevlar mesh clad! Oh well, Gotta go. |

Skyguy, I was responding to this post on the new thread you started and when I clicked "Post message" the thread was gone! So here I am. Misato is on his way down from Wa. state. We're going to ride either tomorrow or probably Saturday. Saturday is better for me, personally. I have a screen repair guy coming at 10:30am and after that I'm free. Misato wants to visit American Sport Bike so I'm thinking we go down there first, and then on the way back up we can do a lap over Ortega Highway and back to my house for some BBQ. Let me know if you're interested in coming with. Gonna try and get one or two more on board as well. You guys can laugh at me riding in shorts and a t-shirt all day, I won't take it personally. |

Pwnzor, I will meet up with you guys IF I can still move. I am so sore I am thinking about riding the 99 all the way home today. Don't know if I have the twisties in my heart today. Hell I don't even have the straights in my heart today. And even better, I have to ride back up here early next week. Oh well, I better get it together and head out of here. |

It's a bit of a scoot just getting to my house from your house. Let me know how you feel after you've gotten a bit of rest. |

Im back, Im tired. Got lost in the desert. Damm it I knew I should have taken the GPS. Hurt so bad I took serious drugs (thank god for friends). Damm football injury has cost me pain for years. 684 miles today. Heat of 107 and a thunderstorm from hell. I actually had to ride out the water at a gas station. I should have stayed out of the mountains. So tired the last leg of the ride I was real sloppy. I am really going to have to change the headlights out for something better even with the bright Piaas they are to dim to be safe. Rest of the bike was awesome though. lots of 85+ cruising and she purred despite the heat and the flogging. I am going to try to make Saturday! Ok it was a mountain biking injury but I always wanted to say that cheesy line. |

My gawd man, what are you? A girl? All the whining, sheesh. Glad you had a good ride though. Seriously. That which doesn't kill us, makes us take the car with the airconditioning next time. To tired and to sore to sleep. Usually I don't get my arse kicked so badly. I really can't complain. I got to ride more in a couple of days than some folks get to ride in a month. Kdan, I did about 1,400 miles in three days (mostly two) on the stock seat. Until you have done that in 100+ heat you dont know pain..... That seat is going out the door real soon. I think Glendale has the upgrade on the wall. I am going to call tomorrow! I still have a happy grin on my face though. Oh and it looks like I am doing the same ride again next week. Four or five times a year I try to take a different route up North. After all these years of riding I am running low on new roads lol. This is the first time I have done it during a heat wave........... I hope it's the last. My only other car is a Pinzgauer. Whats heat or air conditioning? |

don't know yet, I haven't heard from Misato and he's the guest of honor so we'll see what happens. Honestly, if I stay out of the heat today it's no skin off my nose. |
