Steve that maybe true but the Amber wheels are no different as far as expense. Also the sunset wheels have red pigment and they are cheaper. |

Maybe red wheels are faster. |

I really wasn't expecting anything new performance wise this year. I am totally digging the black/red Firebolt. At least those who are bored with their current color scheme now have a new palette to play with I still believe 2008 will be the Firebolt's year. (Message edited by metalstorm on July 15, 2006) |

"Cherry Bomb" IS But i believe sales of Ducati Monsters will now increase.I jumped ship for Ducati once already, and if Buell can't supply an unreal world killer...well many already do. |

Ducxl: I think its just a matter of time. Buell is a small company comparativly, and engine programs are expensive. Bads1: Those red wheels would look good on your bike. |

They also boosted the price of the Cherry bomb wheels 35 bucks over the others... that shouldn't be. They are the same price as the amber ones have always been, and still are.} |

"All the XB wheels are powder coated." No, they are not. No point arguing it. |

Yeah I'll argue it!!! I gotta tape that was home recorded during the 20th anniversary having Erik as are guest of honor speaking of the wheels and the POWDER COATING on how they had a very difficult time keeping the color on them consistant from wheel to wheel. They were having different color variations and finally got it right. So actually I don't have to argue I have it on tape to view. |

Crusty, Got ya! Dana, Are you certain that all the Buell wheels are still powder-coated? Maybe some are not? It's been three years since the 20th and there have been quite a number of new wheel finishes released since then. |

I know the Amber ones are. Why wouldn't the rest?? It would only make sense that the same vendor do all colors and stages of the wheels. The black you can tell its powder coated, the sunburst..powder coated...the white ones though I wonder because of the polished rim lip. |

I do know that it's very difficult for the powder to stick to the rough part of the rim, the polished part it sticks to no problem. This is from the guys that do powder coating here locally. Of course Buell may have a different process. |

I love the black and red XB12R... If I can sell my springer and my S1, my S1W will have a new stable mate!! |

Looks like the black and red XB12R is a hit, I want one, too! I noticed just "Buell" is on the airbox, no more "American Motorcycles". Is there a legal reason, or just for looks? |

Bikertrash05 Says: I noticed just "Buell" is on the airbox, no more "American Motorcycles". Is there a legal reason, or just for looks? I suspect it's a cost-cutting measure. Lets say each one of those "American Motorcycles" decals costs $5. so $5 x 2 = $10 per bike. Lets say Buell builds 5000 motorcycles this year. so 5000 x 10 = $50,000. Thats a chunk of change right thar buddy. |

Even 10 cents a unit is a big savings when you consider the volume of production. A dime isn't much by itself, but how many thousand bikes does Buell produce each year? It adds up, and it adds up FAST. |

I don't mind the one rating at all ... I couldn't really care less how other people feel about what I say here. I state my opinion and that's it . There's one or two people out there (I think I know who they are) who have taken it upon themselves to rate me a one for every post I make. Makes no nevermind to me . I say have at it . BTW , I like the cherry bomb 12R too... VERY sweet. |

I think dropping "American Motorcycles" is a great choice graphically, and I'd guess that is what drove it. To my eye it is a much cleaner, visually impactful badge now. |

I thought about peeling off the American stickers from my tank, but I keep meeting people who never heard of a Buell, and can't even deduce from the engine that it's American-made, so I left them on. At least for now. I think he might be saying he wants to compete now head to head based on just plain performance, not as American vs. Japanese/British/Italian.
