Found out the last time I went in to get some warranty stuff taken care of that the place where I bought my bike is not gonna carry buells after this saturday. The next closest is like sixty miles away. To top it off the parts they ordered to fix still haven't gotten there. How long does it take to get a clutch cable? I get the sinking feeling that they are gonna try to milk it so I have to pay for this work after all. |

I've found it is quickest to order parts from Daves. The discount pretty much covers the cost of shipping & I get my parts a lot faster than waiting for my local dealer. (Message edited by metalstorm on July 13, 2006) |

Metalstorm you are right I had rather wait 2 or 3 days and know I will get the right part. and not have to fight with some local dealers. |

a clutch cable is such a simple and peripheral component that it's FAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR easier to simply calll or email dave, order it, and, when it arrives at your doorstep, you simply install it. I know, I know- you have a warranty. but let's never forget the lessons of pyrrh... |

If you wind up with the clutch cable in hand and install it yourself, be warned that the primary end fitting is aluminum and has a history of breaking easily. If the threads in the primary cover do not strip first. The called for torque spec is 3-5 foot pounds and that may be too much. Tighten it little more than hand tight, the O-ring will seal against leaks. Jack |

Everything actually turned out ok. They got me in and out today, and I didn't pay a cent not even for the bolts that rattled out of the chin spoiler(side not if anyone knows how to stop that from happening please) They were even gonna wash it until I told them I was just gonna get it dirty again. Too bad they can't handle my warranty anymore, but I did check out the Cheyenne dealer 47 miles away and they look promising. |

I always put a dab of low strength locktite on the screws when I put my chin spoiler back on. I snug them with with a small 1/4" drive screwdriver. I havn't had one back out yet. |

Randlepmcmurphy: I feel your pain. I'm in Greeley, and just had the compensator nut tightened on my '03 Lightning, the dealer here has dropped the Buell as well. They will continue to service them, but will no longer be selling them. The service writer said there's rumors of HD dropping the Buell entirely, but I don't believe that. It's been a rumor for years. |

I'd like to get all the local buellers together and go to one of their little dinner rides to show them just what they are going to be missing out on. It seems like everyday I see more and more buell around these parts. |
