Tramp... Where in the hell do you learn all this stuff? (And why, maybe?) I've only been able to call bullshit (to myself) on you once, and that's still up in the air a little. You wouldn't be a wee bit autistic, would ya? |

Jim, How long are you guys gonna be up there? I'm headed up on Friday; I'll be staying at Fontana Dam with my wife and son on vacation next week. Tail of the Dragon website says NC is getting ready to repave NC section of 129 any day now. I'll probably get there just in time for that. Luckily, most of the Dragon is in TN. |

Captpete- please- lemme know which BS I posted. Tramp, Your insistence that those hyenas on leashes were Photoshopped, pretty much delivered as fact rather than opinion. I think a few days later there were some other pics posted that had been clipped from a reputable source, (or maybe it was a link) along with some copy describing that gangs in Africa were using them for intimidation, if I remember correctly. But remember, I did say it was still up in the air a bit. There might be a 1% doubt in my mind that they were authentic. If you hadn't been so adamant about your post being fact with you as the ultimate authority, rather than offering an opinion, (nothing other than the flavor of your post leading me to that conclusion, which is also opinion) then I might have used "wrong" instead of "bullshit." Either way, my point was that you've got a pretty good record going in my casual straw poll. It was a compliment, my man. (As a 99 percenter, it was way better than average. I’d take one of those anytime) |

We are already back. It was a day and a half of ass puckering fun! Jim Duncan and XB9ser, Did you all get caught in the rain? Thanks for the computer lessons, already rearranged the furniture around my computer! and the quote of the night was, " Oh well" That was perfect! I wish more people would have shown up too. We did have a nice little pack though. What a great bunch of guys to ride with. Aint nothing like passing rice in the corners! I can't believe we didn't get in any trouble. The most cops I saw were on the way back in N.Y. I just unloaded my bike and now I have to undo the mods to the trailer before I return it. I almost forgot. When are we going to the Catskills mtns.? Any takers? (Message edited by trac95ker on July 12, 2006) |

i am game for the Catskills. sound like a good time! yes i did get caught in the rain on the way back. i rode close to 150 miles in the rain. it wasn't that bad with my rain gear on and the super high-tech patch job held up great. it didn't let any water in at all........ i love duck tape! rich i am glad we could teach you how to use a computer properly! i don't think the ironhorse's computer will ever be the same again. "oh well" |

simply the best riding i have ever experienced. whatever type of cornering you prefer it is there! big thanks to everyone who went, especially trac for all that driving. one of the best trips of my life, no stress, just good fun with good people. is there anywhere better than the smokey mtns for riding? we saw ONE patrol car and almost no traffic the entire ride. the planets must have been in some kind of crazy alignment or something. imagine running your bike at your own personal speed limit over the best roads you have ever ridden with no traffic and you have an idea of what just happened. all of our tires are worn completely to the edge. at one lookout we noticed bubbled rubber balls coming off the edges of jimduncans rear tire. he just sat there with a big smile and a glazed look in his eyes, some sort of zen thing appeared to be goin on. saintly definitely takes the lean angle award. it is almost disturbing to watch as he drops the bike into a decreasing radius turn at an impossible angle of lean, there appears to be no space between the the ground and the bike in many turns. i could watch that all day long! still high as a kite from this experience! my work has piled up while i was gone and i can't even seem to think about it. just can't get that riding out of my mind! all i can seem to do is think about planning the next trip... ohhh waaeell.... too much fun, to anyone thinking of riding that area definitely do it. |
